Fascism doesn't come out of stupidity. It comes out of the degradation of social safety nets, education, community, and ultimately degrading material conditions.
If, in trying to understand how America is devolving into fascism, your primary question is "how can people be so stupid?", you'll always be confused. There isn't some perfectly crafted argument, no perfect slam, no appeal to logic that is going to mitigate fascism. The only ways to curb fascism are to change material conditions or extinguish fascists.
Sure, the US has an advantage in raw number of immigrants versus China. No one is arguing that.
My point is that touting "our melting-pot-loving leaders" versus "their Han-supremacist demagogues" at the height of your unprecedented devolution into fascism isn't quite the own you think it is.
Have you.... have you seen how Americans have been talking about the border? Especially this election cycle? I don't know if would characterize either party's constituencies as "receptive".
People in the know who make big yellow equipment have taken note of the massive, unprecedented uptick in militarized machine sales to the middle east. Graders, specifically. They're planning on paving over everything.
Humans don't necessarily become afraid of large bodies of water while infected with rabies.
Rabies takes away your ability to drink water and swallow, and attempting to drink feels like you're choking. I think this leads some patients to have an aversion to water despite being dangerously thirsty. They try to drink the water best they can, but they just choke on it.
Also a great example of how fact checking fascists is completely ineffective. Platforming a fascist via a debate does nothing other than legitimize their viewpoints.
