  • When you figure out a means of political activity that doesn't involve refining the capitalist regime as it stands, let me know. Until then, I won't be voting for candidates who help slaughter innocent people around the world.

  • I've heard this is what distinguishes a chef proper from a home cook. Sure, your average Joe can cook up something scrumptious, but it takes a chef to understand the logistics and timing to get things prepped just in time, getting plates made at the same time, and ultimately just having everything finished at the same time.

  • What you're doing here is subtly shifting the burden of phone addiction from software companies and phone manufacturers back onto end users.

You're glossing right over the fact that these teams have the very best software engineers, mechanical engineers, marketers, ad people, psychologists, and doctors for the purpose of making these endlessly scrolling apps as addictive and hard to avoid as possible.

I read your comment and think about the people who say "why are you depressed? Just go lift some weights. It all comes down to you"

  • Keir Starmer?

Everything I read about this dude characterizes him as abandoning left wing policy in favor of center, center-right policy.

4th paragraph of his wikipedia page

His leadership has been characterised by movement towards the political centre and abandonment of the left-wing platform of his leadership campaign, as well as by opposition to some of the government response to the COVID-19 pandemic and issues such as Partygate

I just think it's strange for you to insinuate that the position of the left is that of Israel's.

  • I feel like war can be explained better than just the result of bad people doing bad things, and more so about contradictions. If, after all is said and done in this genocide, we are only able to deduce that the cause was bad people doing bad things, we aren't doing our due diligence. We'd be better off trying to understand how the contradictions between Israel and Palestine such as religion, material conditions, age, ethnicity, geopolitical stances... made genocide the only solution for Israel. And more importantly, how to avoid it. Theres too much history here for me to wave my hand and blame some enigmatic force of "evil".
