  • After having multiple conversations with parents about their non-binary children, I have to admit that constantly using they/them gets confusing as hell. This parent has multiple children and I frequently couldn't tell if they were referring to their children collectively, or to the non-binary child individually.

  • Even regular earplugs at a loud concert work amazingly well for me. I can still hear conversation (people yelling over the music) but the deafening volume of the concert is brought down to acceptable levels.

I don't understand why concerts are so loud. They're just...so, so fucking loud...

  • Linux users on Lemmy: People who don't run Linux are just bad with computers and shouldn't be using a computer at all!

I remember being part of these exact same conversations on other message boards at least 15 years ago.

We're all going around in circles here as history repeats itself.

  • I just realized that hidden posts do not stay hidden between browsing sessions.

For instance, I will open Sync, swipe away a post to hide it, close sync, reopen, and that post is no longer hidden. Am I missing a setting? Or is this a bug?

  • I am exactly your use-case. Was using RIF, then I've been using Jerboa up until Sync was released. I never used Sync for Reddit.

My opinion on the two differs from yours, however. Sync seems SO much better than Jerboa to me. Yep, the font was small but I was able to embiggen it. Everything else seems faster and more intuitive. Jerboa was so buggy for me.

  • Installed and could immediately tell it was a great app. I just bought Ultra Lifetime.

My request would be the ability to collapse comments and to be able to promote certain post options buried in the menu to a button (like bookmark), namely, I use "hide post" a lot, and would like to choose to access it without having to drill into the menu. I recognize others might use other post options more frequently (like share or something), so it would be nice to make that configurable.

Thanks for a great app!! 👍

Edit: thanks to some helpful replies, I now know that I can collapse comments by long pressing on them, and I can hide posts quickly by swiping them to the left!

  • That's interesting that you liked Santa Fe so much! I visited once and while I liked it ok, I will probably never feel the need to go back. The homogeneous architecture (pretty much every building is the same color and style) made the place seem so stale and boring, and a little creepy, to be honest.

What about Santa Fe is a draw to you? Maybe I missed something.
