  • Bingo. This is the issue the "enlightened thinkers" here fail to grasp. There is always going to be some form of power, which can lead to corruption, big or small. You want to deal with it in capitalism? Ban lobbying and donations over X amount, and then enforce it harshly. Not some white collar wrist slapping. That will take a big chunk of it. Insider trading ban on elected officials is the other big step.

  • You'll never get anything accomplished then once everyone needs to agree.

  • I read several worldwide publications of varying neutrality and bias to piece together a comprehensive understanding of issues.

You continue to post publications I've never heard of and of varying leftist bias. I look them up each time. You should heed your own advice and try broadening your news beyond obscure outlets. If they source a well known outlet that backs up the claim, linking to them would offer you better credibility. Unfortunately that's not typical from my experience, reading these Facebook quality reports.

Justifying biased reading as "They haven't sold out" is akin to burying your head in the sand.

  • Breathe air in your privately owned company? Straight to ban.

  • They always have, and there is an Orthodox unit with special rules. The community doesn't like it though. As for birth rate, that's strictly for the Secular side. Orthodox women are, to put it bluntly, giving birth as a job. This is part of the issue between them and the Secular Jews that fund their lifestyle. Who the hell wants to pay high taxes so someone else's family of 10 can live without working?

  • It's funny how that's always the response. Obviously it has nothing to do with the well known bastion of free thought journalism at checks notes Black Agenda Report. How dare I question their credibility when they're so well known... Lol

  • Lemmy, introducing you to the weirdest sources of biased "information".

  • Then you're not actually paying attention to what is happening. Just whatever headline pops up when you happen to be watching.

The Orthodox community isn't an army, so the crimes they commit would never be labeled as war crimes.

  • Maybe lower the dosage of whatever shit you're taking.

  • It's a big mixed bag, but a few key reasons are:

    • The IDF represent an armed faction of the secular Jews of Israel. They will make a distinction of Israelis and Israelites, with the Orthodox being the latter. Before the Romans, there were the states of Israel (Tel Aviv) and Judea (Jerusalem), so that separation continues in their mind.
    • If their kids were conscripted, they fear the secular influences upon them and it is a driving factor in their opposition to conscription.
    • Surprisingly, there are factions of Orthodox who don't believe the state of Israel should exist, at least until the Messiah returns. So they oppose the armed faction of the illegitimate state.

There is so much I can't even begin to explain, and I'm sure some Israelis would even have corrections from what I learned over there. The Orthodox live a decent lifestyle which is 100% paid for by the Secular community, so they can spend their days studying and causing trouble for others. When you hear about armed groups shooting at Palestinians and burning down homes, you're making a safe bet if you assume they're Orthodox.

  • Yeah, you have to view it like stoning. One good rock to an unprotected head is all it takes to turn the lights off.

  • It doesn't help that the ultra-religious, which makes up 99% of settlers, hate the IDF almost as much as Palestinians. The fact they weren't throwing rocks at the troops surprised me the most.

  • I'm sure RT had a completely unbiased summary of the pay walled piece. Good journalism all around.

  • Honestly could be the Middle East at this point. They have plenty of firearms and their fondness for fastfood has not gone well.

  • To bad this outlet skews hard in the bias sauce. Gotta see if it's backed up by someone more neutral.

Edit: All reports from credible outlets rely on this particular report, so make what you will of it.

  • Hell, some claim they don't exist.

  • Quite a few would disagree with that view, giving how many fled their own country when the Taliban took over again. But hey, don't let that narrative ruin your perspective. Lol

  • Average soldier wanted to deal with that. It was high command keeping that shit going because they wanted to keep tribal leaders happy.
