As a Sync Pro Reddit user, I was excited for the switch. I'm just sticking to Jerboa. It gets the job done. There isn't enough content on here to justify spending money imo.
The difference is I use YouTube and YouTube Music for hours a day. I'm on Lemmy maybe an hour a day. I'm not paying any subscription for a free service. I wouldn't even pay for YouTube Premium, but I'm an original Google Music adopter, and their music algorithm really knows what I like.
I gave up Netflix, so I can stomach the cost increase this one time. Maybe my mood will change when the price increase hits later this year.
I'm sure it is, but until the live version has single payment, I won't consider the switch. Even then, I don't use Lemmy half as much as I used Reddit, so I won't pay the same amount I paid for Reddit.
I'm also not about to get into a body count contest because that way lies madness and a whole bunch of "well, this justifies this" arguments.
But if you must know what I think about your Nanking argument, it's this. The atomic bomb was not intended as retaliation for Japan's crimes against China. The uS did not have the right to retaliate against Japan for crimes done to China.
None of that has anything to do with my comment. Lol
Anyone claiming the US was retaliating on behalf of the Republic of China is a fool.
What the US did to the Natives is more in line with what the Japanese did to China. Equating the use of atomic bombs as genocide is quite off the mark.
What the Democrats should have done is put forth a cap on the justice count while Republicans feel like winners. If they stack the court back, we'll just see SCOTUS grow every new administration until it's literally meaningless. The court shouldn't even be political. It is there to check runaway politics.
Or the fact we literally have drone and camera footage of mass arrests. I'm not one to view Vice these days, but one of their reporters went there and saw some rather suggestive situations as well.
After Trump was so nice (dumb) enough to showcase just how clear US satellite photos are these days, one has to question why some here are so quick to cry in China's defense. Especially after the very public take over of Hong Kong, you think an ethnic cleanse is out of the question?
I'm sure some pro-Chinese twit will come rushing in with some whataboutism or a crack on US history, as if that excuses things.
Not at all actually. We learn about it. We discuss it. What's surprising to me is, you are harping on the atom bombs when the fire bombings caused way more death and destruction. It's not even a comparison.
Almost like they could all get excited in a mega thread... We did it for Musk spam.
