I would be shocked if Linux VR support isn't massively improved prior to Valve releasing the Deckard.
Yeah, definitely do this. Getting half a system update can cause all kinds of weird problems.
It can also be that NVIDIA cards have issue with different power states. My card will forget that it is connected to HDMI if it is idle for too long. It's entirely possible that the card just hibernated and the flatpak container removed it and failed to re-add it leading to CPU rendering, a reboot will fix this (which OP did as part of a system update).
You could fix it without a reboot, but that would require you digging into the problem a bit more. In my case, I wrote a script that re-set the display properties and that caused the DE to attempt to use the card again. I have it bound to a hotkey so if my display doesn't turn on, I can just press a button (instead of rebooting).
Social Media - The Easily Influencables and The Bots That Control Them.
I don't have anything of substance to say
Look at how clever we are
I wasn't talking about Miyazaki, I was talking about the social media uproar from the anti-AI crowd that quoted him out of context and used that to imply that he supported their position.
Here's the video that contains the actual quote and context:
His comment wasn't about generative AI "stealing" his art style, he said that wouldn't use it in his works because it had no soul and didn't know what it was to be human and, for his art, that is important.
Well that's the end of them, if social media has taught me anything it's that copying anybody else's style is completely taboo and anyone who does it is evil and deserves nothing but ridicule.
e: social media sure doesn't like looking in the mirror
One of us, One of us
Who are 'you guys'?
you never condemn israel is posts about their crime and just when it is compared with nazi you start arguing when israel methods and statements are very similar to each other
You're fighting a strawman that you've created in your head that's an amalgamation of every post you disagree with.
You've likely never seen anything that I've written before so you have no basis for anything that you've claimed. Implying that I'm pro-Zionist is very much incorrect.
That’s voluntary.
It's not voluntary if the only other option is to have your family's wealth confiscated and be forced to stay in 1930s Germany which was, as anyone should know, very hostile to Jewish people (including the mass extermination).
You're ignoring the implied threat of impending violence and seizure of property.
It's like claiming that a bank voluntarily gave money to a bank robber.
Nope. Liar.
I literally linked the wikipedia article that contains the quote, what the hell are you talking about?
None of that addresses the company at issue.
There are several Chinese developers involved in this investigation.
If the DoD was "designating every rival as a military organization" then why are they singling out specific Chinese developers instead of designating them all as a "Chinese Military Company"? It isn't because they "have to comply with local data regulations", all companies have to do that. All Chinese companies have to do that and not all Chinese companies are designated by the DoD as a Military Company.
So, why is this one specific company singled out? Probably because it works for the PLA, as the DoD says.
Your argument is basically "The DoD is lying" which isn't supported by any evidence in this case. "Trust me bro" from a random social media user isn't exactly a credible source.
They literally funded the Nazis and tried to ally with them. They are surely close enough to warrant the reminder of that fact.
The Haavara Agreement (Hebrew: הֶסְכֵּם הַעֲבָרָה, romanized: heskem haavara, lit. ‘transfer agreement’) was an agreement between Nazi Germany and Zionist organizations signed on 25 August 1933.
You're grossly misrepresenting what the Haavara Agreement was.
From the Haavara Agreement wikipedia article:
In an arrangement with the Reich Economics Ministry, the blocked German bank accounts of prospective immigrants would be unblocked and funds from them used by Hanotea to buy agricultural German goods; these goods, along with the immigrants, would then go to Palestine, and the immigrants would be granted a house or citrus plantation by the company of the same value.
The Nazis frozen the accounts of German jews and the Haavara Agreement was an agreement that Jews would leave Germany in exchange for their funds being transferred with them. Nazi was still trying to find solutions to the "Jewish question" and this was seen as a way to coerce Jews into leaving.
This was not Zionists funding Nazi Germany or trying to ally with them. It was a Nazi tactic to financially coerce German jews to leave Germany.
In this context, Nazi stands for a specific political party in 1930s Germany.
Deconstructing the word doesn't make any sense here. To use a modern example, MAGA is a party, but not every person who wants to make America great is a MAGA. So calling a person, who wants to make America great, a MAGA when they are not a member of the MAGA party is incorrect and misleading.
That's what people are doing when they call every fascist a 'Nazi'. The Nazis were a type of fascist, but each fascist group has different goals and motivations. Lumping them all together with the National Socialist German Workers Party is incorrect and misleading.
Also, it's a cheap performative critique that functions as a thought-terminating cliche. Just look on social media where people are interacting with the word 'Nazi' like it's just another meme instead of actually educating themselves on the types of problems caused by fascist groups.
So instead of spreading awareness and educating people about a topic of serious importance, we're in a place where people are just making memes about a, now imaginary, group of people which are completely disconnected from the issues of our times.
That's why I think it's bad to use the term Nazi when talking about modern politics.
Are iOS app developers usually considered rivals of the Department of Defense?
Or is it only the ones that work for the PLA?
They didn't designate all Chinese iOS developers, they singled a few out. Unless you think the DoD is trolling, they must have a reason for accusing this specific app developer.
if __name__ == '__main__': exec(open(__file__, 'r').read())
From the article:
Several of the apps traced back to Qihoo 360, a firm declared by the Defense Department to be a “Chinese Military Company."
Luckily, we technology enthusiasts are all special snowflakes and don't engage in anything as banal as copying other people.
I think that the term 'Nazi' needs to die.
These people are not members of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, aka Nazis. They are fascists.
Some of the members of this movement cosplay as Nazis, but they are not Nazis. We call these people, who wear Nazi symbols and glorify the Nazis, neoNazis
Using the term 'Nazi' to describe the fascists taking control of the US Government unnecessarily muddies the discussion on top of being factually incorrect. Words have meaning. Twisting the meaning of words in order to suit your political agenda is irresponsible, at best.
Call fascists fascists because that's what they are. Don't use a term that lets them red herring every conversation by turning it into an argument about the term 'Nazi'.
ASCII emojis are still real to me dammit
