  • That's the one I use :) I like it. Always a fresh feed every day. I don't view my subscriptions by default though, I view /all with a lot of blocking done over the months.

  • When I see headlines like this about colonised places I like to dream that the indigenous people get their land back and eventually wave goodbye to the last settler/colonizer.

  • Top (of which there are several)

  • I wouldn't wish mold expousure on anybody. I hope you make a full recovery.

Those are good suggestions, thank you. I'll likely be retiring soon but the people I'm thinking of are some psychotherapists I know. It's very interpersonal and thankfully a relatively no-nonsense profession. They don't want technology between themselves and their clients, that's for certain.

  • And direct everyone to the Fediverse. All government officials should have their primary accounts there.

  • They’re sole traders. They pay taxes, hire equipment, advertise and handle payments. It’s a business.

  • Thanks. It has been helpful in drafting an advert - it had to be modified heavily but it did save time.

For summarising notes, there are privacy and IP concerns which supplying those as input sometimes.

  • From your examples I suppose you’re saying that something like ChatGPT might help with planning, examining processes for optimisation or making long-term choices rather than day-to-day tasks.

I disagree with you that people don’t belong in business if they don’t see value in AI. I know someone who cleans for a living. They get enough work from the business directory and the system they have seems to be simple enough already to be a candidate for optimisation.

  • Thanks. I read the article and the situation is pretty bad.

I’ve seen people who decry the genocide in Palestine get ratioed or blocked on Microsoft, Meta, Twitter and possibly others. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cger582weplo

That’s one of many examples but Meta are also complicit in genocide, by allowing disinformation to fan the flames as they profit from the advertising. So there is a widespread problem of unethical behaviour.

So I wonder what the better option is or if Signal would be immune. I can happily stick to SMS too.

  • Thank you. That doesn't surprise me, but with all the hype I wondered if I was missing something.

  • I’m out of the loop. Got any decent links I can follow this up on? I don’t want to be a part of the problem but I do primarily use Telegram up until now.

  • I think they mean that it was a buzzword because although it was mentioned, it wasn't a substantial part of state education at the time. They're saying that it "was" a buzzword, rather than that it is one.

  • Oh wow, thank you! I'm a bit lost but I do see the option in the settings to block words 🙏

  • If you could entirely separate humans from the process, then there would be nobody to design and build it.
