Who is "they"? Also, most of the world doesn't have DST and they seem to be doing okay.

Here you see the chinese meddling in other countries' politics. The canadians are so brainwashed by the chinese that in canadian elections they vote for the Communist Party of China!

I didn't know who she was, so I just assumed it was true and that she was just another celebrity sponsored by a VPN company.

I'm using both.

I installed NoScript just a few days ago, because I'm forced to use a really weak computer that struggles to even browse the modern web. I feel like NoScript improved it a lot, and while quite a few websites broke (including lemmy) (but most will still display the content), I just set the ones that I need working to trusted, but the performance is still good (I should note I'm also using it in conjunction with an automatic tab discarter).

I however also don't directly use Google. Both SearX and Yandex don't need javascript, so I'm unaffected by these news, despite being a bit mad about it as a reflection of the direction the web is going as a whole.

echo and alias are both shell commands. If the shell is running (which it obviously still is), those commands should still work, as it does not involve reading data from disk, but from memory.

Edit: I just noticed the picture said cd was not found, which is also a shell built-in. So, I don't know.

You find it enjoyable? I regularly touch electric fences, but not because I want to but because I'm too stupid to think of another way to figure out if the thing is working. I find it to be the opposite of pleasant.

German has the term raubkopieren for piracy which translated literally means theft-copying. I kind of find that term funny because somehow it makes it sound even worse than just piracy, since with pirates we at least have the pop fiction image of the pirate, and because it has a paradoxical sound to it ("how can you steal something by copying?").

I do see Lemmy.world running into issues in the future

I think lemmy.world is already pretty bad. To get away from their posts and comments I've considered joining hexbear, since you people honestly have the best content and most wholesome community and aren't federated with .world, but I also don't want to be completely isolated from the rest of the fediverse. However, I just noticed there are only 5 instances in hexbear's blocked instance list and plenty in the linked list. Maybe I didn't notice how all other instances started federating with hexbear again?

I don't know what the "allowed" instance list means though.

I use bookmarks for stuff that I know that I will some day in the future want to go back to. I don't bookmark every link I open, because I want my bookmarks to only have the "good stuff", ie. stuff that I know I will need often or in the future.

I now have installed an auto tab discarter extension, so I can keep all those tabs open without using too many resources but still be able to go back to them when I need to.

There's no way a US president is going to stop supporting Israel. She would do the same thing, even if she were not the vice-president.
