  • I think if we assume that we run on our devices code that is public we are safe (without additional built in things, backdoors). This code is checked many times so it is good. If you use Android you can use some forks of official Signal client (Molly, Signal-FOSS) and be safe 🙂

  • I feel way more comfortable with having this one file than relying on some cloud-someone-computer thing. And experience is smooth thanks to Syncthing.

  • As of my experience, Plasma is better (funny) with handling touchscreen than GNOME. Maybe you should try to use it. Generally it is really good experience. Yup, some caviots here and there but meh, small thing 🙂

  • It's latest release matches with latest release from GPlay so it is not abandoned in any way. Look at version-FOSS branches, not main (it was not updated a year already).

  • Why? If service you using will be compromised password will be known. But 2FA isn't, so it is useful.

  • Fedora 38 is awesome. Yeah, Red Hat drama I know, but I think Fedora will be fine.

  • There is no way to get camera working on SP7, it is not supported. To get autorotate work install iio-sensor-proxy, enable autorotation in Screen settings and uncheck "only in tablet mode" checkmark under enable autorotation button 🙂
