  • Their point is to be an ethical ad company. So i still kinda trust them. Also, I use Firefox + uBlock Origin on Hard Mode both on PC and Android. Brave has really good, balanced ad blocker which does not break sites but block ads and trackers.

  • It is buggy. Really old packages. Non enabled deb installation in Software Store. Non wayland support which is definetly the future.

  • Go here to understand why it sucks for privacy.

  • Please don't. ElementaryOS is bad for new user this days. Try Fedora Workstation edition or Plasma spin, Linux Mint.

  • You are lucky in this regard 🙂

  • Your main concern I believe is to move your relatives/friends there. And for work, communication with strangers you can use your usual messengers. This way you don't lose opportunities in your career, but you protect the most sensitive information. You can tell your relatives/friends that you will not talk to them on the phone in other messengers. It is also an effective tactic.

  • Harsh, but effective. I chose a slightly softer strategy. I communicate with family/friends on Signal, and for work/with strangers on Telegram. WhatsApp is a thing of the past. Quit there and told everyone that I won't answer there anymore. Trash.

  • PrivacyGuides. I believe this is the best resource to start diving into the privacy topic and this awesome community!

  • Awesome choice. Sadly, Proton is blocked in my country (Russia) but when it worked few years ago, it was an awesome experience!

  • Firefox (Fennec) on Android. uBlock Origin with every single block list enabled.

  • Everything in this regard is based on trust. IVPN f.e. asks pretty big amount of money for their service so there is no reason to sell/share this data to someone. Also, they do everything they can to prevent this behavior (countries with good laws, open source, audited, no marketing bullshit, affiliate links). So I heavily trust them. There is no single reason to trust my ISP though. Good resource for VPN comparison.

  • ISP says hello, seeing which sites, videos you visit and sharing this info with government. Reputable VPN's exist. Link to reputable resource for comparison.

  • Good, reputable resource for VPN comparison. Link.

  • Weird issue 😐 Maybe I could help somehow? Can give you telegram 🙂

  • Thank you. Awesome resource! ❤️

  • There are some places where yes. Brave has VERY good, balanced ad blocker built-in.
