  • There was a Curious George episode where George used a skyscrapers (under construction, of course) floor to ceiling wrap around windows to create a vegetable garden so the restaurant down the street had fresh produce.

It wasn't a bad idea, minus the water damage. Just make a 3 ft planter along all the windows, instead of a window ledge or something, and you would have a ton of food.

  • Since this is from MSNBC...

This is Rachel Maddows take on this as well. Essentially that states will refuse to certify the results.

They tried to do it last election, but weren't really prepared. This time, they feel they've got this on lock.

  • Apparently, they really didn't

The only wild ones left are of a small population in South China and when compared to fossils from Jurassic, it hasn't changed that much.

Although, I admit I dont know how reliable this good news network is, but, it says any variance we see today is due to [human intervention, as we pretty much saved them from extinction.

  • What if he doesn't mean that he's going to be a dictator. What if he means he will purge the country of anyone that doesn't think like him and his followers, therefore they never have to vote again because everyone will be on the same page. J/k...mostly

  • Nah, it's good. No pressure. These are just resources that I kinda had to stumble across, although im sure theyre in some super accessible place and im just a ding dong. Figured if they could help another person, then so be it.

It's hard times right now, you do what you gotta do to keep on keeping on. Lemmy.world is a completely fine choice. They're a large, mainstream place to get comfortable in. But, if you get bored one day and want to check out what else is out there, you've got something to get you started.

I wish you luck, some free time, and some peace of mind.

  • If you ever decide you want to branch out, you can try the instance / community browser at https://lemmyverse.net to check out whats out there.

I will say that although it technically doesnt matter what instance you sign up with, sometimes the descriptions aren't very descriptive at all. Definitely give an instance a browse, to get a feel for the overall vibe, before you sign up.

You can check to see if an instance has been defederated from / by other instances, by entering said instance address at https://defed.xyz/

  • The summary for the post kinda misses the mark on what the majority of the article is pushing.

Yes, the first part describes employees struggling with AI, but the majority of the article makes the case for hiring more freelancers and updating "outdated work models and systems...to unlock the full expected productivity value of AI."

It essentially says that AI isn't the problem, since freelancers can use it perfectly. So full time employees need to be "rethinking how to best do their work and accomplish their goals in light of AI advancements."

  • Technically, it's never been proven that deer can contract CWD from the ingestion of plants. Although, apparently mice and hamsters can.

But, prions suck. Even bleach won't kill these bastards.

Hell, although there's no real, strong evidence to suggest it actually has made the jump, and research has shown it would be really difficult, its probably not impossible. If you ENTERTAIN the stories about the people suspected of possibly contracting CWD, it's even more scary. (Yes, I know the study does more to disprove human infection, than not, but it does a good job of outline suspected cases)

  • Not exactly what you asked, but the only problem I've found with Subaru (crosstrek / legacy) is lack of pick up. It's worth it to shell out for even a slightly upgraded engine. (crosstrek wilderness) If thats important to you and you read a review that says it's a problem, absolutely believe it. It hasn't bordered on dangerous, but it is very noticeable at times.

Other than that 100,000+ miles later and some regular upkeep and there has been absolutely no issues. Shifts fine, although sometimes the rpms hit higher than I'm used to.

I do believe the WRX is manual if that's more your style, and there are Crosstreks (which is essentially an Impreza with more clearance. Even people at the dealership have accidentally called it that) and Foresters that are strictly automatic, or so they say.

Oh, and the windshield wipers are lame. It's like the windshield is too big for the wipers, and the wipers move to slow. If it starts pouring outside, be prepared to be driving 90% blind. Rainx barely helps.

  • If you just read Promise #3 in the Forward of the Project 2025 document, I believe that's the point.

Any time globalization is mentioned, it's in a negative way. They call the global US treaties and economic policy a woke, progressive failure. They blame much of America's problems on our current path of global leadership.

They have to pull it all in and weed out what they dont like before they try to expand in a way that fits their image. (Oil and manufacturing) It's how governments like this function.
