Hmm, my understanding was that FQDN means that anyone will resolve the domain to e.g. the same IP address?

It just means it's the full format, similar to absolute vs relative paths on a filesystem. jellyfin.myexample.com is fully qualified (technically there should be a trailing dot but that's rarely enforced these days) - doesn't matter what it resolves to. jellyfin is not fully qualified - nor is jellyfin.myexample. This matters when you start talking about records in different zones - for example you could have an A record for jellyfin in mydomain.com.

I don't think fully qualified means what you think it means...

At least where I live gas is significantly cheaper than electric.

Heating just the room will be overall cheaper. However doing the whole house will be cheaper per square foot because your room isn't insulated against other rooms, just to the outside, so you'll lose a lot of heat to bleed through to other rooms.

Both are just converting electricity to heat which is already a very efficient process. It's unlikely one of them is significantly better at that.

To add, our two major parties tend to adopt (to varying degrees of commitment) popular movements so they're effectively already coalitions.

For example, Republicans tend to have Christian evangelicals and business interests.
