  • Yes at least 8 years or younger. That is mad. You can afford a new car every 8 yrs? I cannot.

The statistics of the 90% are meaningless. You have to be dumb to drive a non-compliant car into a LEZ. So yea, 90% is complaint, I don't need a statistic for that. I can also tell you that 90% of people who drink are thirsty.

  • Even worse is that our European "low emissions zones" are forcing us to buy new cars (not seond hand ones). Al for the environment right? It is a 360€ fine every time we cross such a zone in an older car.

So if you can't afford a new car, they fine you for it pretty hefty. Long live the rich.

  • There are forms of anesthesia which give you a sense of passing time and allow for dreaming. It is given for small operations or when you were nauseous from the other missing-time one.

I had the light one when I had a teeth operation. I dreamt about nokia phones, how strong they are and that you can feel its toughness in your jaw when putting it towards your ears. Your theory is correct. How did the dream end? I ended up selling the nokia because it was too strong for me :D

  • Good, doctors should be worried. Because if it isn't a textbook issue you have, they won't search any further and tell you with their heads up high "live with it". And they got it wrong half the time too. Pretty much what AI would do. Characters like dr.House are a myth.

Nurses should not be worried. Because it is them who take the imaging, put on bandages and clean up.

I welcome AI if it means shutting up ivory tower doctors.

    All the power to nurses!

  • It is not that complicated, to make a simple example with strings: AAAABBBABABAB takes up 13 spaces, but write (compress) it like 4A3B3AB take up 6 spaces compressing it more than 50%.

Now double it like AAAABBBABABABAAAABBBABABAB with 26 spaces and write it as 2(4A3B3AB) with 9 spaces it takes only 30% of the space.

Compression algorithms just look for those repetitive spaces.

Takes those letters and imagine them being colored pixels of a picture to compress a picture

  • Limiting ammunition isn't effective, Limiting magazine capacity on the other hand. I live in Europe where firearms are heavily regulated, yet they don't care about the amount of ammunition. In fact, you always get a 30% discount if you buy bulk and bulk means per 1000 for quality and per 1400 for surplus. If you have 6 different calibers it adds up quickly. That's how much they care. There is a limit on the weight of total gunpowder before you need a fireworks storage permit though... there are a lot of gun owners in Europe, but we don't practice in schools and shopping malls, I don't know what is wrong with America

  • I don't mean he is not a piece of shit but

Who cares he has 47 weapons. You only have 2 hands. What you think he is going to do? Strap 30 glocks to his leg?

Who cares he has 26000 rounds. Do you know how heavy ammo is? What you think is he going to do? Walk around with a shopping cart full of ammo? Strap 50 magazines to his chest?

It still amazes me that people fall for this "quantity " argument. It means nothing. Someone is not more dangerous with 500 rifles or 5 rifles.

  • Lifetime Sync for reddit pro was 3€, sync for Lemmy is 114€. With that hefty price tag, you might as well just pay for the reddit api calls... This price is borderline insane.

I have a system wide android ad blocker but I always pay for apps to support the developers, but this... nope.
