Where I am, the big cereal brands (Kelloggs, Post, General Mills) tend to go for $6-7 a box, and the bargain brands are like half that at most. I agree, rice and beans would work better if you were being frugal. Or eggs; eggs were real expensive for a bit, but they're back down to $2 a dozen.
People who assume you're MAGA because you don't like Biden aren't the far left. Most of the far left doesn't like Biden either. Dude is a centrist placator. I will say he's better than the alternative, but that's only because the alternative is a demented ultra-grifter and his cult of fascist rubes.
The version I always heard when I was young was, "If you're not a liberal at 20, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative at 40, you have no brain."
Here I am in my mid 40s, and I'm pretty sure the conservatives are the ones with no brains.
I once tried to get internet service from a phone company which shall remain nameless*, and after three weeks and two missed appointments, I got an appointment from them for a Tuesday after 12PM. Nothing more specific than that, but "after 12PM".
I had some stuff to do at work, so I went in to the office for the morning, then headed home. Got home at 11:55 AM, saw a note on the door saying sorry we missed you, please call back for a new appointment.
I'm pretty sure my rage could have powered the sun at that point.
*here's a hint: it starts with V and ends with erizon.
Yeah, this would probably be better with a bit of a wording change (like "how deodorant is sold to women/how deodorant is sold to men").
I mean, there's definitely a real phenomenon at play here, but I think it has more to do with how the system indoctrinates us than any real, actual preferences.
15-20 minutes is a long time when you have a 30-minute gap between your two jobs.
