  • If its an iPhone I would go with an iPhone plus for the screen size.

If its android, I would go with a Samsung A device. They're usually big in size, affordable, comes with a lot of accessibility features, good battery, and relatively easy to find accessories and spare parts.

  • I have a few old phones that still work great. Yes Google might pull their support on the phone because it has an old version of android but you can always use fdroid or side load apps.

I have a couple of old phones here. A 10 year old phone that is used as a bedside alarm and flashlight when needed. The other is a 6 year old phone that is used as a practice device of loading custom ROMs and jail breaking purposes.

  • Obviously the easiest thing to do is find use for some of these stuff. For example:

    • Old phones can be repurposed into MP3 players or podcast players
    • Tablets can be used as eBook readers, video players, or smart home terminals.

If non of those things can be used, then I would try and sell them. You can always find someone who is looking for spare parts online.

If they are not sold, I would open them up and extract whatever can be used. Then sort them into recyclable and unrecyclable categories and dispose of them responsibly. Don't forget the batteries, dispose of them correctly please.
