I bloody hate meta as a business, but I think instances shouldn't defedarate from them by default.

It should be a personal choice really. The user should choose whether or not they want to block threads as an instance.

Memory card slots.

I can tolerate a missing headphone jack, a non replaceable battery, but a missing memory card slot is just too much.

At the moment, the only non Chinese brand of phones that includes this slot are Samsung I think. And even then, certain models also include it.

Honestly, fossil was a very good option for classic watches with some smart capabilities.

It's a shame.

Redmagic is owned by Nubia. If there is something I would never do is get a Chinese branded phones. Wouldn't touch them with a 10m pole.

I think it makes it easy to maintain one copy that gets updated when needed rather than adding it to the app and making sure it matches everywhere.

I might be missing a lot but I feel the iPhone was a complete market segment they created themselves. Android followed a year later.

They also created the tablet market a year or two later.

They also set the trend of earbuds we have nowadays.

Rooting phones nowadays isn't worth it to be honest.

Back in the days, rooting was great as it allows you to install and customise stuff. Nowadays, our phone use is different. Banking and payment apps are used a lot so rooting isn't an option for me.

However, having something like TWRP is good if you want to backup your phone. Great for backup/burner phones.

Probably your best option now is getting a pixel phone and flashing it with graphene os.

If you can't get a pixel phone you may want to use something like lineage os and make sure you don't add any Google services to it.

That's been going on for a very long time. Way before they even acquired Fitbit for such info.
