  • So many of them really just refuse to exist in public space. "The public" is full of evil undesirables, so let me go from my private space (home) to my private space (car) to go to my private space (work/school/venue) so i never have to exit in the scarrryyy public.

Even my more progressive best friends (a couple) refuse to go downtown because they can't park directly in front of where they're going, even though where they'd probably find a spot is still closer than your parking spot at Walmart or a grocery store - but I'm the crazy one for not prioritizing getting a new vehicle at all costs, sure.

    Shit is bonkers.

  • I use my air fryer basically for fries and thats it. I have a convection oven that's like 1/3/ 2/3 though that is fuckin KILLER for this reason. It saves on energy only heating the top, The top bit preheats in a couple minutes max, and it fits basically everything except maybe a cake or something. Since my breakup ive had to pull out the divider one time.

  • You're not wrong, but the underlying traits that make them that way is also what drives them to build FOSS software instead of maximizing their income potential at any and all costs. Meanwhile, most users just suuuuuuuck.

It shouldn't fall on developers, but maybe the community should normalize finding a willing representative willing to listen to all the hot garbage the community throws at devs and have that person monitor various channels then relay only the relevant stuff to the Dev. Cause as it stands, difficult or not, FOSS devs are working for free and dont deserve the hate they get.

  • The American consumers worship of convenience/price above all else is precisely what got us here. Just like how everyone discusses how toxic twitter is........ On Twitter.

In regards to twitter - Of course it's where everyone is, nobody will leave.

In regards to Amazon - Of course everyone else is struggling, nobody will pay $3 more to buy it from them instead of Amazon.

I'm not saying there aren't times it does end up having to be amazon or that you can't be lazy and use amazon occasionally. I have prime myself and do use it on occasion (probably wouldn't if I didn't split it with my ex though.) I AM saying nothing will ever change so long as people REFUSE to even consider their habits for a second.

  • No I still believe actions have consequences, I'm saying either they do or they don't and people who want to play it both ways need to STFU.

However, while of course you can't police what goes out in an envelope, I don't think these materials should have been allowed to ship. Of course, while they say little Billy knowing the 2 guys next door are in love is too much for his fragile little brain the "won't someone think of the kids" crowd don't bat an eye at little Billy running down to the mailbox and pulling out a fearmongering postcard about genital mutilation.

  • I'm happy to block people. I don't owe anybody my time or energy, if they're tedious and annoying in situation a, they probably will be in B as well.

Its the internet, I just dont care. I'm going to make my experience tolerable and if I can't I'll leave. 🤷‍♂️

  • Their free speech is bad. OK.

Yeah, hate speech is bad. IDGAF about your free speech when that speech is "I think this group I don't like should be eliminated or removed from society."

If this were a conservative refusing to deliver liberal info you'd call the refusal free speech itself and argue firing her is illegal - so y'all can sit the fuck down.
