Ehhhhh it matters less than dems want us to think. Social policy doesn't matter if nobody can make endsmeat. The social policy of dems is just the other wing of our singular corporate party providing the illusion of choice.

Christofascism or fascism with a pride flag, either way we funnel more of our wealth to the 1% and further disenfranchise everybody else.

Democrats like to bitch about Republicans but their platforms are 95% the same. The real enemy is leftists, and they'll take Trump for 4 terms before they ever give an inch to the left.

I actually never watched ds9, but LOVED voyager. I hated Enterprise and could never get into it. I think all this new Trek happening is killer though!

I don't know fuck about coffee and 99% of the time drink basic bitch Maxwell house from the warehouse club, but I love dark roast. Not these new megacaff brews being discussed though. I used to occasionally get Starbucks Sumatra, I just tossed my single serve thing and got a French press, and a bag of Peets Major Dickasons Blend.

I'm in America but get socialized health care as a veteran (although they're desperately trying to kill it off.)

I have a full hospital facility in my city - so I can see my doctor, then go get xrays and blood work, then pick up my meds in one trip under one roof. Just always makes me wish it could be that simple for everyone.

Nope, but I do point out that most socialist countries fail due to direct US intervention, which is true but inconvenient to their narrative that socialism is a failure.

Are you familiar with the American concept of the "Bible Belt?" It's essentially just the American Southeast, Texas out to the East Coast, up to mid-Virginia or so. (The confederate states, basically.) This section of the country continues to be hyper religious and hyper conservative. What I'm getting at is that in this neck of the woods, socialist and communist are used almost exclusively as slurs lol, for anybody who doesn't have an almost comical conservative stance.

I get called a tankie pretty frequently for anything vauguely left of biden on Lemmy. Ive never heard the term IRL, but I HAVE been called a communist IRL two or three times for saying a 40 hour work week should cover a basic level of housing.

This is my main issue - in a vacuum sure it'd be terrorism but in this instance I don't see how one side is terrorist but one side is heroic other than "brown bad, white gud." I'm trying to be open minded but Zionists don't really have an argument past "fuck you sympathizer"

Legit question - is there any actual grounds for the "terrorist" label other than striking at a long term oppressive occupying force? Cause ive not seen anyone show any receipts past calling Oct 7 "terrorism" or their overall governance as "extreme" (which, again, makes sense to me after 50 some years of oppression and occupation.)

I'm not in the know so Im not sure if progress has been made in this regard, but traditionally they also have HOURS on HOURS of unpaid time, IIRC only paid for flight time basically.
