  • I have the same attitude for cops as I do Zionists.

Zionists - if you hate 1200 dead, wait til you hear about the 40k dead in Palestine.

Cops - If you hate the ~50-60 murdered cops over the last year, wait til you hear about the 1100 or so civilians murdered.

I can be sympathetic to deaths of any kind, but not when they're martyred explicitly to dehumanize and justify violence against the masses.

  • The (bullshit) scotus argument is that congress can't grant decision powers to federal agencies cause hurrdurr constitution.

Basically, for ~40 years we've run on a SCOTUS decision referred to as the "Chevron Decision." What that did is direct federal courts to defer to agencies on interpretations of relevant laws and statutes, because federal courts were being bogged down by every. little. bit. of. minutiae. around the practical application of a bills intention."Agency says brown, interested party says black, BOOM LAWSUIT" is an exaggeration but not by much. Instead, Chevron gives agencies the room for experts in the field to draft appropriate regulations etc in service of congress' bills. "Agency says brown, interested party says black, well too bad the experts say brown is the best choice." Can't tie them up in court over everything.

Now, with Chevron overturned, Republicans can start tying everything they dont like up in court again. Plus, with the hyper conservative activist SCOTUS judges, now they can run any regulation or policy straight up the appeal ladder to have them all ruled "unconstitutional" with only the occasional less important burner case turned down in a halfass attempt to look "impartial"

  • The problem with cops is similar to the problem we have with corporations/rich folk. Where corpos get to privatize gains and socialize losses, the policing establishment wants to systemically apply good PR/sentiment to the concept of cops while individually applying bad PR/sentiment to individuals(bad apples.)

  • People really need to drop this Insistence that progressive/leftist shit won't win an election. Even with Trumpism as the alternative, dems can't get a leg up because they think chasing trumpers further right will flip them - but trumpers are trump loyalists and even "normal" Republicans are all in. There's no votes for dems there, but they've completely lost their potential base playing this game. Nobody votes because our options are corporate far right or corporate mid right.

If Dems want to mobilize apathetic voters, bring the left vote in, AND flip some "traditional Republicans," they need to run on those policies that are largely popular like M4A and run a candidate with a track record of fighting for more progressive shit that people dont think will drop it all on day 1 like every other dem.

The problem is dems will take Trump over moving an inch to the left 10/10 times.

  • While there's a lot of bangers, I'm probably most fond of Cheese overall. I'm a simple man, the more resources you throw at a bit the happier I am. Hiring an orchestra to sing about cheese is basically peak comedy to me. :P
