  • 90% of the things you do and own are optional, and the environmental impact from meat is miniscule in comparison to you even existing at all. Save your silly caps insults for somebody else, vegetarian-farmer-troll-man haha.

  • "Need" is a matter of perspective. You don't "need" movies, video games, books, or friends, but let's see you give up any sort of random thing because some rando says there are no studies that proves you "need" it lmao. You could probably continue to survive on half the calories you consume each day, so why don't you? You're occupied double the food-based carbon footprint by choice.

  • So you got Windows, Mac, and Linux. Which of the three options would you like suggested to you as an alternative to Windows? Lol. I guess I'll suggest Windows so you can just continue dealing with whatever Microsoft decides to subject you to. Or an Apple computer which people will berate me for because of the cost and the closed garden ecosystem. Or Linux and then get this comment again. Why am I even commenting lawl

  • What are you talking about? And how do I stop corporations from robbing me blind then--by simply not eating chicken? You act like the solution is to simply "change behavior x" which I am doing constantly. I am continuously reevaluation my expenses and trying to find alternative solutions. The reason I'm eating chicken is because it was the cheapest option for the longest time. Are you suggesting I grow and butcher my own chickens? And why are you refuting the fact that people need to eat when it is an irrefutable truth? If people stop eating protein rich meat, the cost of protein rich veggies and other supplements will skyrocket, and here we are having this conversation again.

  • Forget this guy. Just go enjoy your boat if its within your means. Not everybody wants to or is psychologically able to sit around and do nothing in the name of saving money. Maybe boats are depreciating assets, but so too are our lives.

  • Yeah, this is the truth that people are too emotional to accept. I do air permitting and also spend every day calculating the "maximum allowable pollution" a site can produce while keeping it within applicable regulatory limits. Even if the CEO was like "alright, time to go green!" and devotes 100% of the profits to operating "green", they'll just get sued by the shareholders and be bankrupt or go to jail. Even if there are no shareholders, their operating costs will skyrocket and they'll be put out of business by the company next door, or even just Saud Arabia.

Passing government regulation is the only way. But we are also operating in a global economy, so you might just end up destroying your entire oil business in the process, sending all of that marketshare to places with even -worse- environmental regulation. Which just comes back to us anyways in the grand scheme of things.

  • I canceled after they lost Star Trek. And then I never subscribed to the place that does have Star Trek now. Now I'm so annoyed with all of the price hikes that I may only ever subscribe to the high seas going forward. Lol

  • If you have to bust out explanations from IQ test questions to explain yourself, then you've failed to communicate with 98% of whoever reads your comment. You can't expect people to put in more than a modicum of effort to understand your message.

  • I'm sure the entire government of Iceland, including any departments dedicated specifically to, and with decades of experience in tourism, could figure it out if they really wanted. But just charging a tax is easier, so here we are.

  • Okay, how do I get to my job then without encountering all of the passive aggression? Lol. Maybe car haters should be attacking the systems that made it impossible to live within walking distance of our places of employment: capitalism, city zoning, and substandard wages for a start. Otherwise, you're just complaining about the rain when you should have been pulling out an umbrella.

  • This trans book reading example is ridiculous. It was never something people had to do. Kids were never being randomly sat down to do it. It was an intentional thing that everybody agreed to, and was aware of ahead of time. Are you trying to tell other parents how to raise their kids? Because that's what you're doing. Why are you trying to control other people's lives?
