  • This is a bellwether moment.

    More like a bellend moment...

  • For the sake of consistency, I would revoke the citizenship of everybody who's not a native American. Because ya know, it's in the name... "Native American": either you're one, or you're a terrible immigrant who should be deported.

Including the terrible son of German and Scottish immigrants currently soiling the White House.

  • On the bright side, he hasn't been spirited away to a Salvadorian concentration camp without due process. In Nazi America, that counts for something.

  • Using Copilot even as a mere coding assistance is insane, if no other reason than you're sending all your code to Microsoft, and you also let them monitor your work habits in uncomfortably intimate details.

  • Where the hell is big pharma on this one. I can't imagine this is good for stock price

You're not thinking like a psychopathic pharmaceutical exec: vaccines cure people for life instead of creating a lifelong dependency on drugs to survive.

vaccines are not good for the bottom line. I'm pretty sure the pharma industry absolutely loves RFK Jr.

  • I didn't do it on purpose. It just happened. I guess living out in the sticks does help: it's not like we don't have electricity or internet out here, but the first neighbor is 3 miles away, the town is 5 miles, and we have real starry nights here. So it's quite easy to turn off the light and experience a, quiet peaceful night at the hours at which sleep should be happening naturally.

I fall asleep around 8 or 9 pm and I wake up around midnight or 1am, watch something quiet and peaceful so I learn something interesting without falling fully awake - and more importantly without waking up the missus - then I simply fall back asleep until 5 am.

I live above the arctic circle, so when it's winter, I usually sleep longer. And when it's summer and it's daytime all night long, of course I sleep less. But on average, I sleep 2 x 4 hours per night. I feel just as refreshed as when I slept 1 x 8 hours. But perhaps feel less "disconnected", if that makes any sense.

  • I practice biphasic sleep - have done for decades.

I usually put on a light documentary - something about nature or technology, not exciting, terrible or controversial.

  • Love and hate what you want. That's totally normal.

Just make sure you don't start hating people who like things you don't like.

  • I wish someone in Congress floated regime change in the United States.

  • Oh right I misunderstood. I thought it was police sent there by the state.

  • It was only a matter of time before the state goons would start killing innocent civilians with total impunity. That's what happens in dictatorships.

I misundertood who the peacekeeper worked for.

  • I've always wondered why there's "intelligence" in National Intelligence. But the bottom is really dropping out with the cretinous Trump cabinet picks.

  • I don't mind offensive or off-color jokes.

But here's the thing: the more offensive and off-color, the better the joke had better be to be worth the offense.

This is not a good joke. You're just being offensive.

  • The very definition of fascism is when the state, the military and private industry are in cahoots. That's where the name "fascism" comes from: it comes from the Italian word "fasci", meaning "groups, associations, bundles".

  • In fairness, as long as she keeps her trap shut, she's quite attractive.

  • But... All it would take her is watching a video of herself delivering Trump's BS to realize how mind-numbingly daft and lapdoggish she sounds. It really doesn't take much self-introspection skills to feel ashamed at oneself behaving like that. And she went to university, so surely she must see it too. Nobody can be this blind to one's shameful behavior. That's what puzzles me so much.

Unless, like I said, she's a consummate professional and she chooses to leave her self-respect in the locker when she clocks in in order to do the best job she can.

  • She's thick alright, and not just the makeup.

I often wonder if she's as properly dumb as she sounds and she really believes the shit she says, or if she's a true professional striving to do her job to the best of her abilities, even if her job involves lying and saying things that make her look like a dumb bimbo.

    I really can't decide.

  • Nah. It's not that thick! It's only 1.6" thick 😃

I like 90's style chunky and solid. Weight and bulk aren't really a concern for me. Solid, open-source and repairable are my priorities. That's what works for me.
