I will stop using Linux / PC for 10 months. What do you think will happen in that period?

  • This seems fun my prediction is that twitter will suffer a massive breach especially with how theyre handling verification in like 5 months

    • Why do modern phones have device encryption on by default, but computers do not? Why doesn't computers also get encryption on by default?

  • One is mobile the other isnt unless its a laptop. Plus I think win 11 now defaults to that and the same with macos afaik but I didnt really do thorough research.

    • Small children are well known to be afraid of voids (closets, under the bed) in their sleeping area. Knowing this, why don't we design children's rooms to eliminate them?

  • Kinda confused, you want a password manager that stores entries unencrypted but when you need them, the manager encrypts the entry and then prompts you for authetication to autofill the entry? That seems kinda dumb but if its just for convenience to not input your masterpassword everytime, keepassdx allows biometric unlocking. Think it'll take as much time as what you described without potentially exposing any unencrypted entry info

    Edit: Before someone jumps at my throat, security wise using biometrics is also kinda a no no but I understand not everyone has the same threat model so go for it if you want

  • All the ones I used have been said except cryptomator. Its an encryption software that can be used in cloud storage or locally
