  • Prusas are fairly quiet

Interesting, I still think they're way too loud to be around. The cooling fan alone is too loud IMO, combined with the steppers whining away it's definitely not something want to be around for more than I absolutely have to.

  • I have my printer in our "hobby room", well ventilated and the printer is enclosed with a charcoal filter.

If you're just printing PLA, a well ventilated room is probably enough to keep VOCs at a safe level.

I still wouldn't use the printer in a room you're staying in for several hours at a time while it's printing, but I would say the noise of an FDM is definitely also enough to make you not want to be in the same room while it's printing.

  • This is the biggest flaw and issue with the fediverse and Lemmy, it's too damn fragmented with no good way to easily consolidate content from similar, or even identical, communities across instances. So people end up gravitating towards the same few that have the most content.

  • Are you referring to the case where what proton handed over was only identifiable information because the moron chose their appleID email as recovery email and law enforcement got their real identity from that and not actually from proton?

  • Why do you think gyms make their memberships so difficult to leave

Seems like something that's mostly just an issue in the US. I just went online and cancelled my gym membership, it was like 3 clicks and I got a confirmation email of which day was the last day of the membership. Never heard from them since.

  • I mean, "serverless computing" has always only meant that it's "serverless" for the customer who buys the compute power in the sense that they don't have to bother the slightest with the architecture or managing it. Not really anything to reveal there...

  • Aah, yeah that sucks. I was using torrentleech before dby, so I had some evidence of seeding stats etc.

TL is easy enough to get in to though,so that may be an option...even though it's a bit annoying having to jump through hoops like that.

Edit: maybe you have stats from your torrent client?

  • I joined one mostly for content in my native language for my kids, it's as good as impossible to find on public trackers. Initially I intended to only use it for that, but I have since abandoned public trackers completely and exclusively use the private tracker now. I don't find more time or effort intensive at all though, not sure what you expect to do beyond seeding to meet the tracker requiremens, I seed everything I've downloaded, so it makes no difference to me and I haven't noticed any difference whatsoever in effort to use a private tracker compared to a public one.
