    • What's your favourite official gamemode? I was a CTF kid.
    • What's your favourite community gamemode? I was always on surf and prophunt servers back in the day.
  • It should be up to businesses how parents decide to raise their newborn?

    Fuck off.

  • Purple is the gayest colour.

    Purple is my favourite colour.

  • Congrats on the kid! You sound like you'll be a much better dad than your coworkers.

  • The apps are also made by whoever wants to make them. And none of them are made by the development team behind the Lemmy software.

This is a great comment, but I do want to correct this statement; Jerboa is developed by the same people who created Lemmy.

  • I mostly agree with this comment, but I'd like to point out that many "Harper conservatives" are still members of the CPC, Poilievre included. This is just what conservative ideology leads to.

It's kinda insane that things have gotten so bad that we long for the days of Stephen goddamn Harper.

  • Kim's Convenience is such a good show! It toes the line perfectly between being an authentic representation of the struggles immigrant families can face while still being mostly lighthearted and fun.

  • An article using random reddit comments as a source should be outright ignored, IMO.

Especially when said reddit comment has since been edited and no longer reflects what's written in the article. If you bother to follow the reddit link in the article, you'll find someone has replied with an actual source (from France) that shows that the photos are legit, however the title of this post (and the original posts on reddit) are misleading.

This isn't in reaction to American threats, it's a French naval defense company showing off their submarine in the hopes of obtaining a 60 billion dollar contract for twelve submarines that the Canadian government announced last summer.

  • Here's a French article about it. It's not a show of force, it's a naval defense company showing off their submarine in the hopes of being granted a 60 billion dollar contract for 12 submarines that the Canadian government announced last summer.

  • You're right, thanks for adding context. I'm immediately suspicious when a picture is posted with no accompanying news article, and my search wasn't turning up any articles, only social media links.

Here's a French article about it.

  • That's actually a pretty clever ad.

I had to look this up, and wow, the image on the Wikipedia article for priaprism is... well, it's something.

  • Sticks were maybe the first human technology and we've yet to top it to this day.

  • Same as OP except I also get notifications for software updates through Obtainium.

That's on mobile, on desktop I don't allow any notifications.

  • We've tried talking, we've tried percussive maintenance, now it's time to take things up a notch and let these silly little machines know who's boss.

  • Damn, either you were a really smart 13 year old, or you must have been super desperate and then amazed that that actually worked.

  • I think this might actually be the dumbest. My fear of electricity is one of the main reasons I focus my tech shenanigans on the software side of things rather than the hardware.
