  • There's screenshots under both the Google Play and IzzyOnDroid download links which are both listed on the GitHub page.

I agree that devs should add screenshots of their apps to their GitHub readme! But I have to point out you spent more effort writing this comment than looking for screenshots :P

  • You're incorrect, "expresso" in French is pronounced /ɛk.spʁɛ.so/.

I'm a snobby barista, so I stick to the more Italian-like prononciation even when speaking French, but the French word expresso is pronounced as its written.

  • NB has never been a safe haven for queer people, but the brazenness of homophobes and transphobes has increased dramatically since Premier Higgs' attack on trans youth and policy 713.

I personally know quite a few drag performers in the province, and every single one of them consistently receives death threats and harassment on their social media.

If you vote conservative, fuck you. The rhetoric of the Conservatives (both provincially in NB and federally) is directly influencing the rise of hate crimes towards people I love. If you still support these political parties, you are either uninformed to a ridiculous degree (in which case, please educate yourself before giving your support to people) or you're a shitstain on society.

  • It's wild how conservatives constantly have the worst takes on absolutely everything. It'd be funny if I weren't so worried. How they always end up having whichever opinion is furthest away from scientific consensus and/or human decency is actually absurd. You'd think they'd at least occasionally end up having a few reasonable, well thought-out views.

  • I'm mostly planning on working, because I need to afford rent and groceries.

If I'm lucky, I might try to get some time off and do a small bicycle tour in PEI.

  • Cigaro - System of a Down

Mezmerize was one of the first albums I ever owned around age 9. I knew almost every song by heart and would constantly sing along to them in the car. I have a vivid memory of singing this song in particular in the parking lot of the local mall when my dad finally decided to tell me what "cock" meant.

  • It's the risk of knocking it over and making a huge fucking mess, it's thrilling.

  • Then they did some consultations with the public and said that not enough people wanted it.

Worse than that, Trudeau straight up said "People wanted electoral reform because they were unsatisfied under the Harper government, now that we're in power everything is fine and people don't care about electoral reform anymore."

Source article in Le Devoir (French), I'll quote the relevant part here:

« Sous M. [Stephen] Harper, il y avait tellement de gens mécontents du gouvernement et de son approche que les gens disaient “ça prend une réforme électorale pour ne plus avoir de gouvernement qu’on n’aime pas”. Or, sous le système actuel, ils ont maintenant un gouvernement avec lequel ils sont plus satisfaits. Et la motivation de vouloir changer le système électoral est moins percutante [ou moins criante] »

  • If your VPN has Canadian servers, CBC always has a very good website for watching the Olympics and IIRC you only need a Canadian IP address to access it.

  • I bought the fancier model that can connect to the sink for hot water and never bothered setting it up, you get used to the cold water fast enough.

I honestly like it, a blast of cold water up the ass perks me up better than coffee in the mornings.

  • Contrapoints and PhilosophyTube were two big ones

Care to share why you stopped watching their channels? Because without context, the only potential reason that comes to mind is that they're both trans women...

  • Birth control seems like a slightly less pressing issue than an ongoing genocide. You're coming off as extremely callous here.

  • Another issue is how much easier it is to up your nicotine content. When my little brother started vaping, he went up to the equivalent of a pack of smoke's worth of nicotine per day within a couple of months.

Whereas I, who got addicted to nicotine the old fashioned way, took a couple years before I was smoking a pack a day, because otherwise I would have been coughing my lungs out.

  • I blame Nabisco.

  • Fat-shaming is definitely an issue across the political spectrum, unfortunately.

  • Vapes are as tightly controlled as cigarettes (at least here in Canada).

The issue is that cigarettes aren't as tightly regulated as you'd think. Pretty much every town has that one spot where local teens know they won't get carded for nicotine products.
