  • After the Biden debate they just stopped talking essentially and it made it all look polished. Now that Harris is in they suddenly have to actively campaign again and against someone competent, so they're crumbling.

  • The Apex Legends hacking situation was unrelated to the anti-cheat despite initial reports. It didn't stop the hack but it also wasn't the vector for the attacks.

Genshin Impact's anti-cheat however was an unmitigated disaster.

  • ZLUDA was an open source translation layer for CUDA. So basically developers could take code from projects written for Nvidia's CUDA and use ZLUDA to run them on other hardware. Originally the dev was focused on Intel but AMD started paying him and he focused on AMD hardware. They stopped funding him earlier in the year and now it appears AMD legal has gone back on their earlier permission for him to keep distributing the code.

  • This $100 box from Google runs on the same SoC as the $50 streaming box from Onn (Walmart). The only major differences are the Google box as 4GB of RAM vs 3GB, a 1Gb Ethernet port instead of 100Mb (both have WiFi 6), and the Google box has a USB Type C port for power/data and would need an OTG adapter/hub while the Onn box has a Type A and a barrel plug for power.

  • There's no way they realistically hold or capture any of this. They just don't have the logistics. But it's an amazing opportunity to create a dilemma for Russia. They either 1) ignore it and let Ukrainian forces rampage around in Russian territory unopposed or 2) they redeploy forces from the front to defend Russian territory.

The Ukrainian forces should stay nimble either way, and retreat without too big a fight back to their own territory in the latter case, hopefully having caused enough of a diversion for a counteroffensive where they need it.

  • He reposted it saying "the Internet was a mistake", probably trying to pass it off as something that just came up when he was scrolling. Think, right wingers ranting about the immorality of big tech, etc. But the screenshot shows he searched for it.

  • Nah. Decarboxylation is about transforming THCA to THC. THCA isn't really psychoactive, but THC is. You convert it with heat, which if you're smoking is fairly easily achieved. For preparation for edibles you may need to decarboxylate as a separate step, except with baked goods IIRC.

  • Isn't delta-9 the THC that most people think of wrt marijuana? If so, my experience ranged from barely feeling anything, to a mild pleasant high, to so intense it was unpleasant. (In the last instance I was impatient, didn't feel the effects quick enough and took more.)

I was under the impression that the rise in federal legal sale of delta-9 edibles was because the farm bill allows concentrations of 0.3% by weight -- so in edible form you can make the gummy or whatever big enough to still include a decent dose.

  • He was pressured to step down and then was ultimately willing to listen and do so. There was no method to force him to step down -- he had more than enough delegates locked in to win the nomination if he wanted to keep going.

  • This is a good move. Thrg just need to be careful to preclude somehow giving an opening for the court to hear it via original jurisdiction. Congress can only limit the court's appellate jurisdiction under the Constitution.
