  • I feel that.

Spent 5 years in college, had to drop out because I ran out of money, now I work a dead-end job in retail for shit pay and like 70k in debt.

Don't do college, kids. It ain't worth it. Or, rather, do college but do community (or a trade school).

  • Good on you! That's a HUGE accomplishment!!!

  • You are an inspiration. :)

Speaking as someone who rarely ever writes because life keeps getting in the way but still hopes to be published someday. Every day it seems that dream gets further and further away... :(

  • Just out of curiosity, aside from the good example posted below by @trslim@pawb.social, could you provide some examples of "devices and hardware made for windows that somehow fails miserably to work when it has no good reason to"? :)

  • Real Linux users only use Hannah Montana linux. 😎

  • I don't understand. Doesn't every GUI OS have a desktop environment? Not just Linux distros. Like, isn't the Windows Shell just Windows's desktop environment?

  • Fun fact: The "Windows key" (or "Command key" for Mac users) has its own generic name: the Super key!

Not trying to be a smartass here; I genuinely find it fascinating! :D

  • That hasn't been updated in two years. Seems kinda dead if you ask me.

Which is a shame because I used to use that and it was great!

  • Seems great. Not really for me, but hey, I'm just glad it's not yet another goddamn "minimalist" launcher, i.e. ones that're basically just glorified apps lists.

I'd personally love more launchers that use a tiling system, with built-in clock and/or weather widget.

Kind of like Focus Launcher with the Arcticons icon theme but, you know, with less moon and more grid.

  • My reasons for pirating varies by the context, however. Sometimes, I'm pirating something for morals & freedom, while other times it is because I would rather pay money for it but the only option is a DRMed one (and yes Steam is a form of DRM if it requires Steam to play), whilst other times I just pirate it because I don't wanna pay for it.

So, yes, depending on the context, someone can be a pirate for reasons other than "pirate".

Bottom-line is that while I agree with you that people shouldn't kid themselves if they're just being a pirate for pirating's sake, I think you also shouldn't ridicule others who are pirating for less-selfish motivations, at least during instances when that is their sole, or at least primary, motivation.

    Tl;dr – Shit's complex yo.

  • Not familiar with AliExpress, but yeah eBay might be an option. Thanks!

  • Definitely something I looked into. Sadly, all of the ones I found were only purchaseable on Amazon or from Walmart.

  • A short, medium, or long story

    So, a story?

  • Like, at all? From the factory? That's very strange, I would think.

  • Sadly, none that were not purchasable through only Amazon or Walmart.

Motherfuckers aren't getting my money. (Amazon and Walmart, I mean, though technically also the product companies too I guess.)
