  • I'd switch to alternatives any day but unfortunately that would require these people to also switch:

    • family
    • friends
    • university course-mates
    • traineeship tutors
    • residents of the residence I am a representative for
    • the hardest one of all: your mother
  • That's because the funny ones are busy having a social life and being topped by their boyfriends while the others ere either too unfunny to have a social life or use windows and don't have time for one because everything is too slow (also no unix socks)

  • Cancelled long ago. Now only subscriptions I still pay for are Spotify and Proton Plus. The rest I just get it from the high season.

  • For that there's other ways buy honestly I almost never use it

  • Yeah still, the point is how tf do people tolerate the Internet with all the ads.

  • Surprised anyone can use the internet without uBlock Origin tbh

  • Bacon of light? Seems kinda odd but if it tastes good who am I to judge

  • Leave the oven on when you leave the house. Maybe make a hole in the gas pipes too, that one's a real banger

Or idk just buy some gummy toy lizards and hide them in unexpected places

  • How did you become all-knowing?

Probably from reading the part in your comment which says:

So since I don't drink I can't hookup with drunk girls? Sounds like BS to me.

  • I'm very thoughtful and delicate regarding consent

Given what you've said so far I'm gonna call bullshit on that.

  • You do realize that there are different levels of drunkenness right

    Literally re-read what I said.

So a person who drank one beer can not consent anymore, is that what you are telling me?

If the person can't handle the beer then it cannot consent. If you're sober and they're drunk then you are raping them.

There's 2 questions that must be asked in these situation

    1. did she consent to it before being drunk?
    2. is she capable of still understanding what's going on and guve/remove consent?

If the answer to any one of these is "no", "wellll", "idk", "I think/guess so", or anything other than a very clear yes then she can't consent. And when in doubt, assume the answer is no.

  • No.

Being able to consent means being able to both understand what you're consenting to and being able to communicate that you consent to it.

A drunk person can't understand what they're consenting to and, after certain levels of drunkenness, can't communicate their consent either. Therefore they can't consent. You, being sober, should know this and therefore shouldn't take advantage of them. If you do take advantage of them, then that makes you a rapist.

As the other commenter pointed out, I hope the women around you know you're not a safe person to be around.

  • Well that's because Lemmy needs more users

  • If you need to go out of your way to periodically turn off half the OS in order for it to be good then it's not a good OS.

Leaving aside the fact you can't turn everything off without either knowing exactly what you're doing (at which point begs the question why you're doing it rather tjan the better option) or being willing to blindly follow some tutorial at the risk of bricking your machine, disabling all the bullshit windows does is way more time consuming than installing Linux for no real benefit.

  • So since I don't drink I can't hookup with drunk girls?

Exactly, you can't. That would be rape.

  • At no point have I defended other companies, other than FairPhone, on either of those points.

  • Wow I'm sure the website from apple full of promises is a good indicator of how good they're actually doing for the environment. I'm sure they're also planning to stop their model based on mass producing new hardly-repairable phones every year and pushing consumers to buy them rather than keeping their functioning ones, sometimes by cutting support and bricking their old phones.
