  • How did someone describe it? Like 14y/o 4chan users with the cynicism of a 45y/o?

  • If you ignore the fragility (creates a weak point to disable the tank) and the slow charging rate, dust and debris from firefights would be a pretty big issue.

  • With Biden being connected to the democratic party and directly connected to Harris, any critical comments may have a chance of being flipped back towards them. The MAGA campaign is just that maliciously vindictive.

A comment like that gave Trump fodder to try to spin it like he's the good guy, despite all of this being initiated by a comic at his rally.

Trump and his campaign have been trying to shift the blame off of them. First, with saying that the joke (just one joke?) didn't reflect the view of the campaign. Then, Trump mentioned in an interview that the comic probably shouldn't have been there, yet he was able to finish his set, uninterrupted. Now Trump took Biden's (misspoken) comment and compared it with Clinton's previous, calling the supporters "deplorable".

  • I'm assuming it was a box truck with a roller door (like a garage door), and by locked, they might have meant latched. Forgetting to latch the door is a really easy mistake when in a rush or otherwise preoccupied and when the truck hits a bump, the door could easily roll up.

  • I mean, they are harmless and don't produce any venom...

    But...

  • Should've used a bunny harvestman instead to the spider

  • Parkinson's, actually. They corrected it to LBD during his autopsy.

Apparently him and his wife weren't satisfied with the Parkinson's diagnosis as he had some abnormal psychological issues, so they decided to have some neurology tests scheduled. He unfortunately took his life before the appointment, so he never knew the real diagnosis.

  • The thing with Robin is that, regardless of his mental health, he would've been the type of person to curse the choice of bringing someone back to be wasted on him.

While it is commonly believed he took his life due to a constant battle with depression, we do not know exactly what his resolve was, and bringing him back could be seen as hell in his eyes.

  • Well, NASA sometimes works with sensitive info and projects of which sometimes can get shared with their contractors, SpaceX included. Having Musk going through with his escapades, acting otherwise unstably, and now talking with an unfriendly figure to the US. It starts to raise some serious questions regarding national security. NASA is more or less just bringing it to attention.

  • Just him talking about why he doesn't use a phone case, you can just feel the arrogant better than you additude.

  • Honestly, Neil D. Tyson comes off as an arrogant douchebag, same with Bill Nye.

    • riding your delivery bike down the footpath at high speed weaving between pedestrians

Gotta include the ones riding at night in black/dark clothes with no reflectors or lights; be it using the crosswalk, against a 'do not cross' or in the middle of the [car] lane, ignoring the bike lane.

  • That dog is giving off some serious FNaF vibes.

  • Not yet, at least.

The current tech doesn't really factor in road conditions AFAIK. Which is a pretty big factor that dictates how brakes should be applied to stop safely.

One example is, if you're driving along an area with a soft or no shoulder during rain or snow, stopping suddenly could easily make the car slide off the road and end up upside-down or down a cliff. There unfortunately are times where hitting someone/something is unavoidable, along with being the safest option and the decision making capability isn't fully there yet.

  • You can try taking a look through the different forms of torture or execution humans have used...

  • It's a fedora, isn't it

  • I definitely agree. There really should be some sort of vetting processes in place. (An in depth psych eval would do wonders)

The biggest issue is that constitution would need to be amended to add the investigation process to the other three requirements, which could take years upon years to ever get approved. Also, going by the current trend of our political system, being denied could be seen as (or may even be) political subterfuge or gatekeeping by whichever side.

Our system, while it is working for the moment, it really does need improvements. This past eight years being the glowing proof of it.

  • It's using (B)oron though, not (Br)omine.

The thing though, is that boron would normally be written before chlorine. So, I would guess what is written is just the reagents and not the final product. Maybe boron trichloride? I haven't taken a chem class in 15 years, so I may be a bit out of touch though.

Also, what looks to be trichloride (Cl[3]) could also be carbon triiodide, if the person didn't use serifs for the "I". Though, both don't really exist outside of reactions AFIK. The handwriting for subscripted "3" also makes it look like a lowercase "I" making it carbon and lithium. But again, a chemical with just a single carbon and lithium atom doesn't really exist either.

  • I've heard it was more closer to 10 years for a TS/SCI, though it could possibly be more if the investigation finds a blip or for a high level position like a DA.

The presidency however is exempt from needing to go through the process as they were elected into it. As bad as it sounds, with the way the democracy was built and is run, everything would come to a screeching halt if all of the presidents/elected officials needed to go through a lengthy (1yr +) investigation just to have the possibility of starting their job. Instead, they are actively judged of their in/actions during their tenure and impeached (or worse) if needed.

But as you said, the investigators do not release any info and only provide an approval/denial to whomever sponsored (paid) the clearance check. Their only job is to create a profile so they can determine if the person can be trusted with privileged information and not be coerced to release it.
