  • When you are running a mainstream public service

What government is running a Lemmy instance and allowing regular people to make personal accounts?

I know instances don't have to technically do that. But the same argument can be said for countries too.

Any individuals claiming sovereign immunity likely need mental help.

  • So if your position is "my time is so valuable that I'd rather pay someone else to do the work", then why is that only applied to roasting coffee and not preparing meals?

Because I don't live in fantasy land where prepared food costs are exactly the same as raw food costs? Are you seriously comparing the savings of a couple bucks on coffee to several hundred dollars a week in prepared vs non-prepared food costs?

Yes, I agree with you that your entire argument doesn't make sense.

I'm glad you have found something that you enjoy to do with your time. Enjoy your coffee roasting.

  • I'll be honest, I don't think it's unreasonable to need to go through some form of certification to purchase residential housing.

To use US terms, as those are what I'm familiar with, a greencard would be sufficient, since it would allow you to legally live and work in the country.

  • You're comparing a need (food) to not even a want, but a possibly nice to have (self-roasted coffee).

A person can't live without food. However, a person could live without coffee. I can definitely live without roasting my own beans once a week and using that time saved to do something else.

  • I guess Texas isn't a border state and that people who are literally born and raised in Mexico and in currently living in the US aren't Mexican enough to make real Mexican food. Good to know.

  • Given how much time I spent on Sync with Reddit, I imagine the ultra one-time price ($99) will end up being a dollar per hour in a few months and just go down from there.

A dollar per hour for entertainment is generally a good deal to me.
