  • Oatmeal. You can customize it to what you need and your tastes. It just needs liquid for the oats and whatever additions you want to do. I use chia seeds and flax seeds for protein & fiber, and add frozen fruit and vanilla soy milk. Microwave and enjoy.

Peanut butter, dried fruit, honey, fresh fruit, etc. are all good choices

  • The highest percentage turnout of 18-29 year olds in the 2022 election cycle was in Michigan and only 36% of them voted with abortion rights on the ballot.

They're going to have to turn out in higher numbers across the states to do anything like what you're suggesting.

  • Why? They're a dime a dozen and were put up in the 1900s largely due to the Daughters of the Confederacy and to reinforce Jim Crow laws.

They aren't really worth preserving. A picture can be taken to explain how awful these things are.

  • I just had to do this. It was less than $4K for cremation, two services with funeral home staff (multi-hour, including on location at the church), and all of the guest books/cards/etc, plus announcements. I'd have to look at my paperwork for the exact amount.

They even told us to bring our own urn because it would be cheaper than anything the funeral home could provide, so we did.

  • Divorce rates are weird to me because they take the number of marriages in one year and the number of divorces and say the divorce rate is a percentage of marriages from that year.

But divorced folks could have been married any length of time, so it's not like half of the marriages in that specific year ended in divorce.

  • Well, I started just playing more my game backlog on Steam and finding other things to do that wasn't scrolling the interwebs most of the time. I come here, sure, but no where near as much as I did on reddit, and I don't comment here nearly as much as I did there either.

  • You should be driven more by the content of your food, than how "pretty" it is.

    That's not how people work.

You could have the most delicious beef Wellington on the planet, but if it looks like monkey brains, it's going to give people a gag reflex. If you have a good that your brain expects to taste one way and it tastes another way, then it might cause a gag reflex or other aversion. Of your food looks spoiled, people will be adverse to it even if it's fresh and perfectly fine.

You can't undo human survival evolution because it's 'unnecessary' with the snap of your fingers.

  • Those can be kind of hit & miss for food allergies. They prick your back with them, but if your allergic reactions happen in, say, your throat, there's a good chance you won't show as allergic. I found the pollen/dander prick test to be a lot more accurate than the food test.

According to the one I took, I'm allergic to both pineapple and mushrooms, which I'm not. Also according to the test, I'm not allergic to any tree nuts at all, which eating those make my lips/mouth/throat swell and itch, in addition to making it hurt/difficult to breathe.

    So yeah, ymmv.
