  • a) Good for them

    b) How long before NVIDIA throws up their hands at the whole thing and does their own Linux distro + pushes all their cloud AI customers to use it? (it doesn't seem like they're ever going to be shamed / coerced into actually open-sourcing their driver)

  • A great way to tell that a business is making way too much money is when they can afford to hire monkey cages full of lawyers to fling every terrible legal argument they can think of at you in the hope that one of them somehow sticks.

  • It’s not a blood superiority thing, dude - we’re instinctually driven to procreate. If for whatever reason you can’t or don’t want to do that, you can adopt a kid and love them exactly as much and in exactly the same way as you would your biological offspring, but the idea of conceiving and bearing a child appeals to a very basic part of human nature for a lot of us.

  • Yeah, everyone I know who adopted did so as a last resort and had a long expensive miserable slog of it; once you get through that experience it’s just as satisfying as having a biological kid, but it’s no picnic.

  • It's really not, though; it's not violent and it's not sexual. Male-presenting children's characters wear female clothes all the time without any controversy; Bugs Bunny is constantly dressing up as a girl bunny, Donald Duck wears a dress in "Donald in Mathmagic Land," and you can literally make Mario wear a wedding dress in Super Mario Odyssey.

(I'm on team Let Your Kids Watch R-Rated Movies If You Want, but even if you think society should get to restrict what parents can show their kids, drag is not something people have generally considered obscene or otherwise had a problem with)

  • It's not like it's getting zero rainfall, it's just not getting enough to support its current levels of crop output; they were growing cereal crops in the Great Plains long before we figured out industrial-scale groundwater irrigation.

  • Sure, but with the much bigger minus that rabid dogs are also likely to bite a lot of perfectly innocent people, particularly kids, and even more particularly, kids who have crazy anti-vaxxer parents that might not get them a (human) rabies shot in time to save their life after a dog bite.

(note how many kids die of self-inflected gunshot wounds because their parents are too stupid to keep them safe from those)
