I'm liking the UI on their desktop site.. I'm tempted to jump.

Yeah I was thinking of jumping on to .ml. When I first started I thought hey they are real big! They must be the best. But nah I want nothing to do with Threads. On Mastadon I'm on mastadon.social and am thinking of switching as well for the same reason.

I tried to load it with ublock origin and the site wouldnt load. Will try again later..

I am 45 and you can say a tech enthusiast. I've never worked in tech but I have always wanted to but never took that chance. I feel like I'm too old to start now.

That is untrue. The FBI tried to get Apple to decrypt a shooter's iPhone in Florida a few years back and they wouldn't budge.

Out of curiosity I tried it for a few minutes yesterday. All I saw was a bunch of influencers and low level memes. I had duck duck go tracker blocker on just to see how bad they are and it's worse than I could ever imagine. It showed 686 tracker attempts from 35 different companies and I was only on for about 10 minutes.

I joined mastodon.social because I figured it was the biggest so it had to be the best. Now I have to decide where to move to. If I really what to follow anyone on threads I'll use their app but thats highly unlikely. I scrolled for 5 minutes and they tried to track my info 686 times and all I saw there were low level memes and influencers degrading themselves for likes and follows. They can keep it.
