  • This year Germany passed a law to completely remove all lead pipes until January 2026.

But the allowed levels of lead in drinking water have already been lowered so much since 2013 (10 microgram per liter, this has been lowered again since to 5 microgram per liter) that any water that passed through a lead pipe cannot realistically fulfill the requirements, thus there are only extremely few households left with any lead in their pipes.

Coating the pipes is not a way out of this, since Germany has expressly forbidden this as a way to renovate.

  • There are around 2.5 million ants for every human on earth.

If the ants collectively decided we should go, they could kill all of us in a day. The only places that would be safe are Antarctica (population varies between 4400 and 1100) and Greenland (population 56,643).

And don't expect some scientists at the south pole or Greenlanders to repopulate the world, the scientists couldn't and the Greenlanders wouldn't out of spite.

  • When their god unjustly loved my characters brother more than him they had a falling out and after some very pointed arguments over a romantic rivalry at a later point my character killed his twin brother, for this, he was cast out by their god and marked with a sign of the fallen, making him a fallen Aasimar.

Kaidahn the Murderer doesn't miss his brother Abelard, but their mother Evelyn and their father Adamund do.

  • To be fair, the right would immediatly counter with "white dignity" or "straight dignity" and accuse everyone holding up LGBTQ+-dignity or black dignity of denigrating white dignity and complain about an atmosphere where "whites aren't allowed to feel the dignity of their race anymore".

Because that's just how they work.

  • Yeah well, one can be anti-oppression and anti-apartheid as well as anti-terror, anti-killing-civilians, anti-bombing-hospitals, anti-using-civilians-as-shields, anti-hostage-taking and anti-warcrimes.

The israeli Government is not the only one with blood on their hands and while nothing can excuse what the IDF is doing, nothing can excuse what HAMAS is doing too.

Both sides fucking suck, the only difference I can see is that HAMAS is bad for Israelis and Palestinians moreso than the Israeli Government is also bad for Israelis.

  • One of those people is not a US Senator. The Senator was the one bringing it up, getting all worked up over a Tweet. The Senator, chose "Congress" as the place and "during a hearing" as the time. Both these decisions are absolutely unfit for a US Senator.

Go fucking meet the guy behind a 7eleven after work or something like that. But nooo, the Senator said "here is a place, now is a time" because he needed to look like a tough guy in front of cameras.

  • I don't care if those "tough guys" want to slog it out, but the choice of time and place shows such a serious lack of common sense that it would be alarming for a professional fighter, not to mention an elected representative.

The guy thought that, when challenged anytime anywhere, there and then, in Congress, during a hearing would be a good time and place. smh

  • During shakespeares time, they did not allow female actors, so all women on stage were played by men.

Shakespeare had men acting in skirts and dresses. Juliet of Romeo and Juliet, a 14 year old girl was played by a man. The kissing between the Capulet heiress and the Montague boy were two men smooching on stage.

Repugnicans are a plague on both your houses (of Parliament)!

  • Aye, I used to sail the high seas, the hull of my ship gnarly with viruses, adware and malware from some infectious crackers or key-generators.

Then I had money, and started buying my software and my movies and all was good for a time. Then my media consume shifted to mobile devices, but I had Amazon Prime Video as the only really available video-streaming service around and all was good for a time. Then I added Netflix, as it arrived on my countries market and all was good for a time. Then I added Crunchyroll, Disney+ and Hulu and everything sucked, streaming the shows I wanted to watch was suddenly so expensive, no single streaming service had everything I wanted to watch, so I needed to subscribe to them all, costing an amount of money I would not spend on buying those shows.

Now I have unsubscribed from all but two again, but the market is so fractured, there is barely anything interesting on the services I still go to.

So my eyes keep wandering to that old tricorn, the hook and peg-leg, gathering dust on the wall. I can hear the waves crashing and feel the tide rising in my bones. The moneybags have decided to press us for more and more, their greed means no single harbor, not even two are enough to supply our demands. So there is plenty of bounty to be found on the high seas again, big fat galleons full of content otherwise unreachable or too expensive.

Doncha hear it boys? Davey Jones is singing again, calling us back to the sea, put on your VPN, defy the torrents and right your compasses with a good magnet. We did not choose this life, they made us turn to it.
