  • Yes. The man, on the other hand, had a rational fear of the cops given his history. No wonder he resisted - I wouldn't be surprised if he had a panic reaction to being arrested. Obviously, the best outcome would have been if he had complied, I'm not saying it's okay to resist even an illegal arrest necessarily, but sometimes you panic and react irrationally. That's just being human.

  • Controversial oppinion, perhaps: would it not have been a better option to just, give up and let him go (for now), rather than fucking shoot him? I mean, wasn't this over a traffic stop?

  • Well yes, nobody likes ads. But think of it this way - ads are "democratic" in a way, because it means everybody can "afford" or access that which is financed by the ads. Most websites are expensive to run and have to make money somehow to pay for itself - as much as I dislike ads, I'm not sure what the alternative would be? Should we have to pay to access each and every website? I don't know what the best solution would be, to be hones.

  • Yes. These people are not entitled to be business owners. If they can't hack it, then get out of the way for the people that can. But don't worry, business owners - I'm sure you'd be perfectly happy being a gig worker for another company instead, right?

    Yes, but you can make an additional set of friends in the Fediverse based on your interests instead. That's what I'm trying to do.

  • So? It’s public. Who cares?

    People who are frequently targeted by harassers care, such as trans people. People on Threads will be able to find trans people in the fediverse and harass them by creating accounts on the same instance as the trans person to get around the block.
