  • She was in that, but I don't think it's any kind of stretch to say that movie was almost entirely as revered as it is thanks to Anthony Hopkins stellar performance.

  • Virtually every politician or political hopeful that is a forevertrumper is a grifter themselves, they love Trump because he's been elected as king of the grifters, they look up to him because what bigger con is there than conning your way into the presidency.

The great thing about all of them being grifters is that when tempted with all that money that flows through elections and parties, they can't but funnel as much as they can from it into their own pockets, it's pathological.

By electing all these grifters into positions of power, the republican party is ruining its own finances.

This while their actions through the decades has made money a direct equivalent to power.

There may be more billionaires on their side these days, but the type of billionaires that side with them aren't the type that'll give their own money to the cause.

Lets hope that them sabotaging themselves so persistently will be enough to offset how effective these grifters are in luring functionally retarded people to vote for them.

  • The fact she's known on a national stage could work against her tho.

  • This is so insane. When a country puts a guy like him behind them, there's no law that can't be changed to remove these kinds of protections and the circumstances at that point tend to exist where "the people" are perfectly OK changing even the most fundamental laws to facilitate getting rid of people like him permanently.

And if they can't get rid of him by law and he's overthrown, that much the more reason to stab him with 50 daggers.

  • Scheduling power plant maintenance during winter in a country where it gets that cold seems a tad, uhm, insane?

  • Besides that, mrna tech started to be developed in the 1970's with the first labrat trials in the late 80's or early 90's.

Clinical trials on humans, to test their safety and effectiveness in combating various diseases and viruses have been ongoing for the past decade.

And as you said, the first several widely used vaccines based on mrna tech have been deployed to literally billions of people.

This is an incredibly gigantic sample size for data and there have been very few issues for the past 3 years.

And what bernieecclestoned brings up about herd immunity simply means the people they are talking to are, like most antivaxxers, blithering idiots that know some catch phrases and not a single meaning behind them.

You only obtain herd immunity with minimal casualties through hardening the herd with vaccines and then hope the immune systems of the herd adjust to further combat the disease. If data doesn't show that new variants are easily countered by the immune systems of the herd, you know you need to develop more vaccines.

If you try to obtain herd immunity by letting a brand new disease like COVID run its course, you will probably obtain it eventually, but instead of 7 million dead worldwide (and lord knows how many with long covid or other long term disabilities due to the disease), you'll have 70 million or more.

Herd immunity doesn't mean you should just let shit hit the fan and see who's left standing. If you miscalculate the severity of the disease, you can have another situation like with the plague where it killed over 25 million out of the 180 million people on earth.

In todays numbers that would mean like 1.1 billion people die. Probably far more since we're extremely more connected than people were in 400AD.

And you'd think that the better general healthcare and hygiene these days would lessen it, but the sheer increase in how we're connected would easily wipe that advantage off the board.

  • So, was this a triple murder or did they steal the baby?

  • There isn't a single sane person who doesn't consider Hamas a collective bag of dicks.

What Hamas does doesn't excuse what Israel does to Palestinians.

  • Seems to be pretty effective at detecting that there's artillery within range.

Even to the point of being able to detect how precise it can hit.

  • We're investigating ourselves and will be sure to let you know if we did anything wrong. PINKY PROMISE!

  • Easy, leak there's Hunter Biden nudes some location far away from the Capitol and the Bizarro Barbies and some of the MAGA men will run like their lives depend on it to go watch it.

  • That's what makes it extra messed up.

In the text of the article, they actually link to the kids video.

Yet the include of the page, they use that CTWC video.

So this isn't lazy or by accident, this is completely deliberate.

  • Yeah, and if the OG video was just a minute or so long, I get including it while "reporting" on it.

This kid did a 45 minute run, which CTWC included in their video in its entirety, their own contribution, being the intro and interview, are only a few minutes tacked on at each end.

    It's infuriating.

  • Why did Polygon include the CTWC video at the top of their page instead of BlueScuti's?

They are already stealing his views reposting his entire video with some bullshit commenting from them over the top of it and now Polygon is supporting that kind of behavior.

The kid did the work, give him the damn views.

  • I don't see why they would rely on Twitter to begin with.

All phones can receive emergency broadcast messages over GSM and wifi. You don't need Twitter for communication in emergencies.

And I don't get why phones don't have pager tech built into them by default, it's ancient and simple and works at longer ranges, so even if cell reception gets spotty, you'd have an extra layer to keep things going.

Don't rely on internet services, especially those owned by some third party run by an entitled rich jackass, for emergency services and messaging.

  • They are marked out on the documents.

Not all that well tho, seems they just did the ol "black bar over image" thing idiots keep doing with PDFs where you can actually remove the black bars and see what's underneath.

But a lot of names are only first names or initials, so it's probably not going to be as helpful or exposing as one would like them to be.

The Orange One and JFK Jrs names are in there in full tho.

    Here's the flightlogs.

  • The use case I see is screens mounted on something that moves.

It's easy with accelerometers to know the orientation, so you can display things on something that in its whole or has parts that move in an additive way.

Imagine an movie screening with the screen mounted on a float in the ocean.

The float moves with the waves. You can stabilize the image of the movie to be still while the screen itself tilts.

Something like this, but then with a direct screen instead of a projected one.

Another use case would be applying this to smartwatches or other displays like that.

You could make the output of the screen always be perfectly aligned with your line of sight rather than have it tilted at an angle parallel with your arm.

  • A bucket of salt is probably more healthy for you than listening to anything a site with "facts" in the name says.

And that's not even looking at who's behind that site and the wording they use.

Remember, breathing gives you an elevated risk of lungcancer.

  • Exactly.

I'd be OK with CEOs and other management getting these overinflated wages and benefits if their role actually encompassed being responsible for EVERYTHING the company does under their watch.

Now, they are only held responsible by shareholders for the finances of the company and everything else is just a cost calculation.

They are fined 78 Million, which means they probably made billions of these actions.

The fines should also be calculated as 100% of what they likely gained from their actions.

Those two together would change how corporations and their management do things drastically.

And I wouldn't just make rules that define the CEO gets to go to jail, because then in the shortest time, they'd put flunkies in the CEO position, without any power, while the actual CEO gets another name label.
