Speed limits would result in groups of traffic sort of just sticking together, with most everyone going right at the speed limit and the occasional slower vehicle.

Healthcare debt could be considered to be under duress. At what point are you "physically forced" to sign? Does "accept this medical treatment or die" make the cut?

Isn't that what laws are, in theory, supposed to do? Establish a minimum standard.

I know that in practice, there is significant deviation from legality and morality, but lots of people pick and choose the parts of religion they want to follow as well.

Additionally, why do people complaining about these comparisons always view it as lowering the standards for certain groups of people rather than raising the standards for animals? It's the wrong takeaway from the comparison.

If modern medicine and things like vaccines are ok, then so are supplements.

Supplements are lower impact and less "unnatural" than animal agriculture.

There's never a "right time" to bring up a topic that they don't want to address because they are complicit.

Prioritize the already-living before creating more of them.

The distinction I am making here is that I now consider them to be in league with Trump. It's a talking point that I will use with Democratic supporters of Israel to try and get them to reconsider their position. Not that I expect much traction, but given how much of a "team sport" American politics is it seems like something to call them out for.

I bought a new computer a few years ago that has 11 on it. With how the Steam Deck has seemed to really promote Linux for gaming, I'm seriously considering it on my next build.

I have 11, so not directly affected. But with "no more security updates" being the only real reason one needs to change, the obvious question here is if there is 3rd party software that can protect a Windows 10 system?

3.5% can probably do it if such a change is unopposed. But it isn't unopposed.

I am actually taking a real assessment of how I want to be spending my time. The future was never "guaranteed", and it's never been guaranteed to anyone. But it feels a lot more tenuous now.

But I think that a healthy society includes a few child-free people.

Regardless of one's views on antinatalism, we absolutely need to acknowledge that not everyone is suitable for parenthood. I'm not suggesting that we (as a society) impose restrictions on it. Rather if someone self-selects for not having kids, people need to STFU and accept it rather than trying to shame or pressure them.

So the meaning of life is ... the continuation of life? Or to put it another way, life is the meaning of life. That seems rather tautological.

Housing can either be affordable or a good investment. I should be affordable, but unfortunately it would seem that society has chosen the latter.
