  • There is a lot of good messaging in the Bible, the Quran, the Torah, etc. You don't need to be religious to appreciate that. Just like how somebody who appreciates in the mission and words of The Amazing Randi does not need a special label.

The labels start to come into play when discussing your belief or disbelief in a god or gods.

  • It's been a few years since I last bought a TV, but I've been happy with my Sony. About once or twice a year I get a "software update available" message, which is weird since it has never been connected to any network, but I just dismiss it and continue my regular usage.

  • “He has introduced this new kind of ‘angertaiment’ where you just get people upset and then you podcast about it, and you write a book about it, and you make some money on it, but you’re not actually there when people need you. Like when the lights went out, when 30 million Texans were relying on a senator to spring into action, he went to Cancun. That’s who he is,” Allred said.

  • “Surely a political press corps that spent months arguing that President Biden’s age rendered him mentally unfit, wouldn’t look the other way when the Republican candidate, the oldest person to run for president in American history, is not only old but decompensating before our very eyes,” she continued. “The difference of course is that Biden is aging while Donald is dementing.”

  • Fair enough.

I personally see our options with Isreal as a no win scenario for the US people. With the "Peace to Prosperity" agreement Trump signed with Isreal without even inviting Palestine to the table, he pretty much announced that his view of peace in the area was the genocide we see happening now. Then Biden pretty much agreed with his military support. I was hoping that I had missed some 3rd party candidate proposing a alternative, but I guess not.

  • No need to apologize. You do what you think is best.

Is your intent to not vote or do you have a candidate that you believe will halt the military support of Isreal?

  • The stock price whipsawed during an extremely volatile trading session in which more than 97 million shares traded hands — multiple times the company’s 30-day average trading volume.

Does Trump have to disclose if he is dumping his shares? That many shares trading hands makes me wonder if he is trying to cash out before the stock starts to tank again.

  • Do you think that Trump or the Republicans will halt military support to Isreal?

You also have not answered my question. Are you simply not voting because all politicians are just various degrees of evil and voting for any of them will be "accepting 'the lesser of two evils'"?

I am genuinely interested in knowing the point of that statement. Is it to encourage people not to vote?

Are their any other topics that you apply this mentality to or is it just this election?

Edit: To answer your question, no, I do not support genocide. I do however believe in choosing the lesser of two evils when there are no better alternatives.

  • I don’t believe in accepting “the lesser of two evils”

I've been seeing this argument alot this electing cycle. Can you provide an example of a politician that has done committed or supported an action that could be considered "evil"?

  • “He has engaged in disgracefully vicious harassment and intimidation of his ex-wife,” the opinion read. “I can imagine no legitimate excuse for Marcus’s behavior as reflected in this record, many of the details of which are not fit for reproduction in a judicial opinion.”

If only somebody could have predicted that mysogynist legislators weaponizing the legal system would enable abusers. /s

  • Looks like it's time to bring this meme out again.

  • Wait until he notices the C's in “Pacific Ocean”.

  • Remember when she wore a jacket with the words “I really don’t care. Do U?” when visiting a migrant child detention facility in Texas?

  • It's not like it was a hostile take over. They played their part when Musk talked shit and they sued him to follow through with the purchase. They could have easily kept it, but they wanted the money instead.

  • I hope a significant number of them get new jobs and quiet quit to get that double paycheck for as long as they can.

  • For all of the doom and gloom of that view of the big picture, I do see a lot of beauty and good in the little things. That's where I like to focus most of my energy.

  • It's not like everybody woke up one day and "ah shit, everything's fucked! How the hell did that happen. This is unprecedented!" The scale and tools might be new, but that's about it.

The problem is that "continue on as normal" basically means to continually get progressively worse. Greed and oppression will increase. Division and bigotry will keep growing. Science and logic will be ignored or manipulated by those seeking power. This will ultimately culminate in some sort of horrifically deadly breaking point. Then we reset a little bit and start the cycle all over again and again until the humans go extinct.

I know that this is an incredibly pessimistic take, but that's my view of current events.
