Democrats have zero interest in relieving economic burden of the working class, If they did, they would be pushing for livable wages, affordable housing, affordable education and affordable health care. All things that are not even mentioned in their current platform.
It's kind of hard to say with 750,000 people now homeless. 65% people living paycheck to paycheck. 53% of people either under or uninsured. The elderly being priced out of their homes and becoming the fasting growing segment of the unhoused. Where the 1% possess 95% of all the world's wealth. Credit card debt is through the roof and auto repossessions are right behind it.
The governments solution will be to start offering 40 year mortgages. Do nothing to make housing affordable, just extend the time to pay it off like they've done with auto loans going from 60 months to 72 months terms.
Pressure public opinion? This implies that politicians and government gives a flying fuck what we think. When one billionaire has more political influence than millions of voters they don't care what we think. It's not like this is new news that nobody has heard of before. We've known this for decades, and nothing has changed. Even if they were taxed accordingly that money would not be reallocated to helping the working class.
Taxing the rich to save society is based on the assumption that taxation is required for the government to spend. The government can create money on a whim when they want it.
When they havent changed the qualifiers for poverty in decades, it makes it look like it has decreased. The simple fact that our wages are stagnant, housing is unaffordable, our quality of life has significantly diminished.
The total amount I paid for my house in 1992 would not even be enough to cover the down payment for that same property today.
The duopoly has created the environment over the last 50 years so that these companies do not pay taxes. Calling them out on it when they are the ones directly responsible for the fact that they pay no taxes is political theater
Democrats have and always will have a rotating villain to blame when they don't want to pass something. The same way they will always have party sheepdogs
I wonder the same thing about Democrat politicians that come out of the woodwork every 4 years and talk like they give a fuck, only to retreat back to the political sewers that day after the election and continue defending the status quo.
I am voting strategically, against both shades of fascism. Continuing to reward bad behavior by electing them creates worse behavior. Republicans have gone from Nixon, who even Obama said was to the left of him, to total garbage like Trump because Republicans wouldn't hold their politicians accountable. Democrats have gone from someone like Carter to someone denying there is a genocide happening in the ME because they wouldn't hold their politicians accountable.

Democrats are colluding with Republicans to move those goal posts. And I keep moving it further and further to the right every election.
