Shit. Just remembered there's a tradie coming round at 7.30am tomorrow to do some fence repairs. After working all weekend I was looking forward to a lie-in. It might be a two day job as well. Argh!
Not nostalgia particularly, but it was a blast from the past when the other day I found one of those old ring-pull tabs that used to be on drink cans. Also called 'pull-tabs' I think. Not sure when they were phased out in Aus, but in the UK they were mostly gone by the late 80s and replaced by the 'stay-tab' we all know today. The ring-pulls were sharp and dangerous and were littered a lot, so I certainly don't miss them!
As in toppings? Got some nice free-range salami for one pizza, the other one will be veg - capsicum, red onion, mushies, corn. A nice mozzarella for both, might chuck on a bit of strong cheddar for good measure.
There's no bludging in those chore achievements! Great job. I had almost the identical day, but add shopping and minus cleaning the bathroom, which is on the to-do list for tomorrow :0/
I dabbled in am-dram many years ago. The premise of this play sounded good and we were happy to drop $60 on tickets to support the local group, but it got off to a bad start because one of the floor mics they had set up had fallen over so literally you couldn't hear any of the dialogue over the sound of the actors' feet shuffling around the stage. The story had every cliched whodunnit trope you can imagine as well.
Saturday night was a bit of a change from the usual routine of early drinks and a takeaway, instead we booked in for a dinner and a show. Broadway it was not, this was in Parkdale. The dinner was great. If you like Italian food and excellent service, Bueno is highly recommended.
Then things got a bit surreal. We arrived at the little theatre on Parkers Road about 20 mins before the play was due to start, thinking we'd get some pre-show drinks. The bar was open, but the people staffing it were not allowed to sell alcohol, so we ducked out to a nearby bar for a quick glass of wine before returning to the theatre. This was the moment when the Matildas were in the penalty shoot out and we kind of got drawn into watching that on the pub TV, but it went on so long we had only a minute or two before the play was about to start. We dashed back to the foyer and someone was watching the penalties on their phone, so we and a bunch of other strangers gathered round to watch. The theatre staff saw what was going on and actually delayed the start of the play until the winning kick lol.
The play was a self-written murder mystery by a local amateur dramatics group. Good on them for trying, but it was just awful and we left at the interval. Not sure if the guy in the audience (all 20 of us) who had fallen asleep and was snoring loudly made it to the end.
You know how butter chicken is the default curry here, tikka masala is pretty much the default in England, that and a balti in the northern counties. Was it this Nagi recipe? https://www.recipetineats.com/chicken-tikka-masala/
Some useful info and tips there, thanks. Are the daily limits still a thing or has that been dropped since that article was written?
The ABC pulled most of their Twitter/X accounts this week, including @abcemergency which is a bad move imho
Just looked up the brand, pretty cool that it's portable too. Did you pay the full RRP of $549, or get a deal?
Pepperoni isn't great for cats though, too much salt and fat, plus any garlic involved can be toxic. Our kitties love a bit of pizza cheese :)
