Having a license and access to a vehicle could really help you find some freedom from your work/home experience. You’d be able to go where you want even if it’s just to be alone.
Kids who came to school in dirty clothes, hair messy, dirt on their hands and faces. I thought they were just gross pigpen types. Not till I was older and less sheltered did I meet families where the adults had other stuff going on and didn’t see to their kids’ well being. I was lucky enough to have had no idea what it meant to be neglected.
Sewing notions like button sets, zippers, interfacing, binding tape etc. All that stuff is nice to have on hand regardless of the project. Other than that I think I’d be looking for patterns rather than cloth unless you have a specific project in mind.
Journey to The West was my gateway into Chinese mythology. It has been retold many times in many different ways and languages. It was an introduction to a fascinating world very different than (for me) worn out western tropes.
I love learning about Chinese culture both real and mythological. I am learning some mandarin on the side and hope to take a trip to mainland China someday.
