  • However, as it stands, UTM is not proceeding to contest the ruling. As apps distributed on iOS cannot use a JIT compiler (other than specially entitled alternative browser engines), the functionality and performance of the emulators running through UTM SE, the version submitted for review that had JIT disabled, was significantly impaired. UTM says getting UTM SE approved “isn’t worth fighting for”.

    Oh. Well okay then.

  • I can imagine the new Astrobot getting a PC port, where you’re still literally using a dualsense controller as part of the game. It’s about the best advertising you can get for your own hardware/legacy.

If such a thing happens and it sells controllers, I can imagine them doing something with PSVR2 as well, assuming the hardware limitations get sorted.

  • Non-targeted advertising for random electronics on tech sites and games on videogame sites will probably net a similar amount of interest from users at a much lower cost both financially and morally than invasive targeted advertisements. Google wouldn't have anything to sell though, so... time to blame the users who want to be left alone now, I guess.

Just looks like an economic bubble on life support.

  • As someone who just has a PSVR2 and a PS5, I agree. I think being able to include those features in PCVR games might entice VR developers to provide more feature rich ports of their games to PS5. Here's hoping it just needs some kind of official driver or something.

  • Images on the feed shrink when I try to zoom in on mobile. If I want to read the text on the image, I need to tap it once to open the post, then tap it again to open the image. At that point it fills the screen, but I still can’t zoom in any closer, it just bounces back.

  • I bought the Ezio trilogy on sale late last year on steam. When I installed it on deck and tried to play, I couldn’t because my Ubisoft account was originally made on console using an outdated email, so account confirmation is impossible, and I need to make a new Ubisoft account from scratch and forfeit whatever value I had accumulated with the old one. I figured I’d make a new one eventually, but here I am, nearly half a year later with still no interest in doing so.

Same exact thing happened with Rockstar and red dead 2 on deck.

I’m sure most pc players won’t even care that they need to slap together a quick PS account too play a great game, but sometimes it can be just enough of a hassle to keep people from playing at all.

  • I’m almost 40 and I’d say there’s no age range to this game. The little bots are adorable and goofy little parodies of the characters they’re based on, usually found doing something ridiculous. It just oozes nostalgia and charm.

Little kids will enjoy it for sure, and there’s little challenge, but adults often find smiling unavoidable. At least this was my experience with Rescue Mission for PSVR.

It’s just a cute and silly good time.

  • I enjoy MacOS, but I’ve got an ancient Intel Mac mini with upgraded storage and RAM back at the in-laws that I had been using as a server. Now that I’ve had the pleasure of a steam deck, I’d like to turn it into a dedicated Linux machine whenever I get the chance to grab it. It’s long past its expiration date as a Mac machine.

  • I always get a little annoyed when people imply consumers are at fault for what’s actually just shitty economic practices.

I’m no economist, but ad-supported everything just seems like a stagnant bubble trying desperately not to burst by throwing more ads everywhere and calling you the bad guy for blocking them.

  • Yeah, Linux losing native ports is valve’s own fault. You put in all the work for free, people expect you to continue putting in the work for free. Apple’s GPTK is years behind, but the same thing will happen with that. Fewer Mac ports, greater work put into the GPTK to make up for it.
