  • This show had such a good premise, and they did nothing with it. I was pretty excited the first couple of episodes to see where it went, but after the initial introspection and "i should probably stop being a creep" decision, it was basically a character line. Stuff just kind of happened to him, and he didn't really take any steps or do anything on his own. And somehow that led him right back to the ending we got. Not really sure what the whole point of the story was.

  • So, I started this one on a whim without knowing this was part of the larger series (Love Live I believe) and generally someone who doesn't watch idol shows. (However, I've been baited - in a good way- a few times - Zombieland Saga and Oshi no Ko I'm looking at you)

Overall I thought this was a really good Idol-adjacent show that stood up on its own. If I hadn't been told it was part of the bigger series, I don't think I would have known.I would imagine I might have gotten more enjoyment if I was able to pick up the easter eggs that I'm sure were sprinkled throughout the show, but I think that's the perfect type of spin-off. Whether you're familiar with the main story or not, you can still enjoy it, but if you know you get more out of it.

I did have a question though maybe someone can answer. Is this supposed to be like an alternate universe for these characters, where all the main girls are part of the same group in the main series and just play different roles here? Are there other shows like this under the umbrella? I'm not much of a fan of idol shows, but do enjoy CGDCT and SoL/Adventures like this was.

  • I am right there with you. This show is really inconsistent and that makes it frustrating. Like it feels the need to spell out certain things, but other things aren't explained well or don't make sense. I'm really curious if the source material is that way also, because if it is, I can't see why it would have gotten an anime adaptation. Internet from original world being added offscreen, how all the "testing crystals" just show no manna, but all of a sudden the same crystal type blows up when it's convenient for the plot, which one of him is at school at any given point, it's all kind of a mess. I'll finish the season, but if they announce a S2, I will likely not be back.

  • I will say the episode this past week was much more serious than past weeks, and that might be part of it. Less of Kazuya being a scumbag and more just kind of wholesome. I'm sure it will get back to the usual "ugh" soon.

  • I'm liking this one a lot more lately. Especially enjoyed that she realized she's so far off script now, so her "omniscient" power can't really help her much anymore. I hope this helps her realize that she's not destined to ruin everything as the last boss anymore, but if she hasn't figured it out by now, I'm not sure if she can.

  • I think the first half of this show was really strong, but I feel a bit disappointed by the latter half.

This is where I am. The first few episodes were so strong, and I was genuinely excited to see where it went. Then it went to filler episodes where you would think with all the care and affection she was being shown, and the things she was learning, she'd become stronger and more her own person.

I really feel like if the Usubas start pressuring her to use her power for evil, as it stands now she'd do it and hope that someone would come save her. That's pretty disappointing to be honest.

I'll finish the show, but with the lack of development, it makes me wonder if the source material is the same and Miyo will just be a low self esteem damsel in distress waiting for Kudo to come make her happy. Not sure I'm interested in continuing if that's the case.

  • Well, this was certainly a show this season. Overall I thought it was just ok. I was kind of interested in the original premise, and then it turned into OP MC that can do anything in this new world, despite the fact that he was a pastry chef in his past life. Not sure how that translates into super strong, leads men into battle, strongest tactical mind, and able to negotiate circles around nobles that have been trained for it all their lives, but I guess it did. I am a sucker for isekai trash, and watch pretty much all of them, but this one seems destined to be forgotten.

  • I didn't have high hopes for this show going in, but it's really been one that I look forward to every week.
I like that the setting is middle school, so things aren't expected to get much heavier than they are now, even once Komura confesses. It's just a cute "I like this person more than usual, what does this mean" show, and I'm here for it. I really like the art style as well.

  • This episode made me super angry with everyone. After 2-3 fillerish episodes, the action finally starts, and things go to shit for Miyo again. Kudo not listening to her. The trash Usaba family that let her suffer for her entire life all of a sudden showing up like you're dad's 3rd cousin after you won the lottery. Them stating "we can totally teach her to fix the nightmares, but we're not going to" and deciding things with a duel. Just overall a very frustrating episode.

I feel like her mom sealed her power to hide her from the trash family because she knew what they were like. I doubt she planned on dying, so she figured she'd be there to unseal the powers and help Miyo learn to use them when she was ready. Just tragedy that she ended up not being there, and the family she ran away from got their claws on Miyo anyway.

  • This show has strayed so far away from the premise. lol. It went from "Guy obsessively likes girl, girl doesn't like guy. Guy still likes girl but takes a chill pill and gives up on pursuit, and girl upset that guy is not harassing her anymore" to "MC is a really good dude, and helps people fix their problems"

I guess they're trying to set up that he's matured a lot over the past months, and is ready to be a good partner for the girl he likes once she confronts her feelings, but seems like a long roundabout way to get there.

  • What a tough choice. I know it's anime and all, but I think he has a point that becoming human would overall lead to a lower QoL for him. As he is now, he not only is endlessly customizable and useful, but he's pretty much invincible. Once he's a person again, he'd lose most of his utility, and I think that'd be an overall negative. I think the only thing he really needs is a better way to communicate with those around him, but then he'd truly be OP.
