  • Watched both episodes of this last night. What a wonderful story, and a great presentation. As one of multiple siblings myself, I really appreciate how it explores the relationships between them and gives the different points of view. I am really going to enjoy this one I think.

  • I even know someone who smokes menthols because he said it makes people less likely to bum cigarettes off of him.

That's why I switched to menthols back when I smoked. That, and I just liked them more. I didn't like the ultra menthol ones like Kools or Benson & Hedges, but Marlboro Milds were just about perfect, and the amount of "Oh...those are menthol? Nevermind" was the cherry on top.

  • I thought this episode was the best of the season, but it makes me sad looking back at what they could have done. They had such a good cast of side characters ( i wish they had done more with Gigan and the monster village leader) and they actually moved the plot forward, and the premise had a lot of potential. It seemed like they couldn't decide what kind of isekai show they wanted, so just made them all in one.

Still had the same problem with not knowing which him was in a given scene, but maybe that's intentional?

Knowing what I know now, I'd probably still have watched it, but lowered my expectations a bit.

  • Watched it last night since we're basically between seasons, and seems like the anime is way past where the movie ended.

However, the movie was pretty good. I think they did a good job translating things into a movie format. The casting was all pretty well done too.

  • Was this supposed to be 1 or 2 cours? Since Summer is ending, and Fall shows are going to take this spot, I can see why they'd just put it on hold until they're ready. Lots of shows have been doing that lately (Nier, Misfit of Demon Academy, Ayakashi Triangle off the top of my head.)

I feel bad because the show started really strong, but the repeated delays caused it to lose a ton of steam. I may try the live action movie on Netflix to see where the story goes/see if it's worth it to pick the anime back up when it comes back.

  • This was a fun show overall. When I started watching ep 1, I assumed this was going to be this seasons "I can't believe it's not hentai" show, like Inukai San's Dog, or Peter Grill. It turned into a pretty wholesome show (with fanservice) and a good message. All the characters learned and grew over the season, and it was really cool how well everyone meshed and worked well together. I'd watch more if they continued it, but I'm not holding my breath.

  • Really glad this got more announced. I think this was my biggest surprise of the season, as I assumed it was going to be a silly comedy type show based on the art style. Never in a million years would have guessed it would be as dark and scary at times as it was. Definitely one of my most anticipated shows every week, and I'll miss it till it comes back.

  • This has been a surprise this season, and I will be sorry when it's over. I really like the recent trend of making anime about adults/the working world and hope it keeps up. Ice Guy from last season had a very similar vibe to this.

Also, this show has the rare distinction where the OP and ED are bangers.

  • I really enjoyed this one. It was a lot of fun, and didn't take itself too seriously. I liked the "15% of power" limitation, but he was still a "superorganism" They did a good job of filling in the cast around him and fleshing those characters out. I'd watch more of this if they kept going, but I can't imagine it was super popular.

  • Out of all the shows I watched this season, this was probably the okayest one. Completely non-offensive, but not really much to recommend it. I say that as a huge isekai fan as well. I think if Am I Actually the Strongest and Sweet Reincarnation didn't exist, this would have been at the bottom of the barrel for me.

I didn't dislike this show at all, and it did have some really interesting ideas, but it seemed like they were just trying to make the most generic show possible. I remember someone in the comments on one of the earlier episodes was pondering "I can't tell if this is generic power fantasy or if there's something else going on. Edit: He just got guns, yeah, they're not even trying to hide it" or something to that effect. Sums the show up pretty well. OP MC in fantasy world puts together harem (except I don't think he had much of an interest in his harem aside from them helping him make money) and is just the baddest badass ever.

  • What a great season ender! This show continues to not be boxed into one particular way to be like a lot of rom-coms are.

I like the fact that they've developed Walter a bit and given him something to do (Daleth) but I still dislike him overall. Hopefully this will change, but I fear he's been such a turd up till now that I won't ever fully turn the corner on him.

  • I had to go back and double check that this was the last episode with how anti-climactic it was.

I also thought that we had moved past the "I'm destined to destroy the kingdom" thing last week when she realized she was off book and didn't have any context for what was happening. Even Bakarina realized pretty early on that she was in control and could change things. Pride is dense in a much more frustrating way.

  • I didn't think I was going to like this one, but it really grew on me as the season progressed. Lots of cool world building, and a good message. I would definitely watch a S2 if they decided to make it. It's set up nicely for multiple seasons with multiple labyrinths.

  • I agree with both of you on everything. While the first part of the show was amazing, they really fumbled things with the middle portion up to the end. Even this last episode, while it had a lot of good stuff, kind of felt like "too little too late" and didn't really pack as much of a punch as it could have.

I also really hate how all these people who have done horrendous stuff are just given a pass. It's very frustrating and tonally doesn't make sense. It seems more like it's just convenient to ignore that kind of stuff (shades of abuse in real life maybe?) but very unsatisfying.

I'll give season 2 a shot, but it's going to be on a short leash.

  • I'm so glad this wasn't the last episode! I was worried when we got close to the end that we wouldn't make any progress at all, so I was glad that there was a next episode preview. I really wish CR would adopt the HiDIVE feature where it tells you how many episodes are in the season.

Another super cute episode today. These two are soooo close to figuring it out, and their interactions are so pure and cute that it really gets me in the old kokoro.
