  • Funny. I have a buddy who bought his around the same time as I did. I remember talking about it. I saw him a month or so ago and he was still using his. He's got a ton of money (well paid, no kids) and in tech so I figured he would have at least upgraded, but he said there was no need.

Although I just looked it up and they have bad reliability ratings, which is surprising to me based on how good mine has been with decent usage.

  • Unless you think she has already physically hit him, it's painfully clear from the context that this is a political hit.

Your post just reads as a justification for being fooled by the title, or a justification for being outright dishonest. We can't shut on trump supporters for being so detached from reality while trying to pretend it's reasonable to believe he was talking about actually physically hitting her here. It's equally as detached from reality.

  • I hate how they will put in clear connections

I play daily and I don't recall ever seeing this. The one caveat is that they'll do something like, on the first line, the four boxes will be fresh, prince, bel, air. But then it's just obvious that is not what they meant.

But that being said, it's a tough game. I only have an 85% win rate. Often words I've never heard of and plenty of the purple groups I can't figure out even after I've eliminated all the other groups.

  • Lol Mississippi is still flying the Confederate flag at their capitol. "Just a tiny minority!" Where have you been the past 2 decades, defending flying the Confederate flag as some kind of "southern pride" thing? And weren't you just arguing that the Democrats are the party of the KKK? Which, of course, is not true, but it didn't seem you care much about something being a "tiny minority" then.

  • I read this and was like "10 bucks says it's just alphabetical" and, lo and behold, it's just alphabetical. How is that not the obvious answer?

They haven't even started counting yet.

You need to take a fucking chill pill, my man.

  • I've been extremely happy with my windows surface book, which I got over a decade ago, still use regularly, and I can even still develop on it without a huge headache. I think visual studio is the best ide I've used. Vscode has replaced pretty much every other basic text editing tool I use (windows based, at least). I'm not a big fan of windows adding more and and tracking shit to the os, but I can't remember the last time ive had a bsod, and even then I was fighting with hardware problems.

They definitely have their crap and shit that drives me nuts, and like all the big companies they are trying to slurp up as much data as they can get, which is enough reason for many people to move away, but this idea that they "suck at everything" is just circle jerking.

  • I bought 5 years ago when it was still reasonable. I have a great rate on a great house that has increased by about 50% since I bought it.

I don't want to, because this is just about the perfect size house for us in a great location, but I can't really "trade up" as the interest rates are through the roof and everything is more expensive too.

  • I get your fear, but my optimistic side thinks that trump is special in his ability to self promote to gullible fools. And while the reality denial of trumpism will never completely go away, Republicans will return to some sense of normalcy after he loses his grip.

  • I disagree because you probably use the entertainment buttons more than anything. For instance, my wife's car has the volume control on the touchscreen, which is super annoying because it's something I like to manually adjust a lot.

I honestly can't think of what I would prefer be touch screen...really it should just display on a touch screen so I can use it if I want, but everything should be controllable through physical buttons too.

  • The “Big Switch” in the 1960s was North vs South, not White vs Black.

No one is saying black people switched any thing. We are talking about how the Democrats were confederate supporters during the civil war and immediately after, and then there was a switch where the Republicans became the party of confederate supporters. Which is why it's republicans now who are flying the racist and traitorous confederate flags now, and no longer the democrats.

  • to steal the executive branch of the government by illegally (at the state level, in defiance of state constitutions and statutes) disenfranchising entire states that vote the way Republicans don’t want

Project 2025, the guidebook of presidential policy recommendations written by conservative activists, provides few details about its voting recommendations, making it hard to say how voting rights could be affected if the proposals were to be enacted.

I hate defending the heritage foundation, but my love for reality exceeds that hate.

And they have openly claimed on numerous occasions that they intend to take the executive regardless of what the vote reflects

Of course you don't link to any of that. But, either way, I'm responding to the blatant lying about what they said right here.

I have no idea what you’re on about, but I’ve got you tagged at some prior point as “blathering idiot,” so I assume you’re just doing what you usually do. Blather on.

If this is any indication of the way you "debate," I wear that tag as a badge of honor. Thank you.

  • And this will be the twist around

It's funny being accused of twisting something around when I'm pointing out that the poster is lying about what was said, and implicitly making calls to violence over that lie.

Bloodless coup quote extracted from a far right YouTube.

Except the poster didn't say "I heard this on some far right youtube thing" but made a claim about what the head of the heritage foundation said.

The gentleman on display is the president of the heritage foundation, the heritage foundation is heavily involved in writing Project 2025.

And how does that make the lie the top level poster made about what he said any more true? I don't follow your logic here.

  • It really depends on how complicated your set up is and how much you value your privacy. I use personal capital (now empower), which also helps me manage a budget as well, and see our multiple investment accounts all in one place, so I can balance both mine and my wife's. So I would recommend that, with the caveat that you might not feel comfortable sharing all of that with a third party.

  • You’re right, he didn’t outright say it was a coup, he said it was the second revolution.

In refence to how they were going to reshape the executive after they win the election. Calling it a coup is just outright lying about what was said, as what they claim they are going to do will be perfectly legal. It's scary enough on it's own. Trying to paint it as if they are openly claiming they are going to steal the government is just dishonest. Why defend this, I have no idea.

  • I wouldn’t take that chance.

Not taking the chance isn't the same as it never happening. Speaking as a decently experienced poker player, you can understand your odds, and make the right call, and still lose because of it. It doesn't mean you were wrong, it's just statistics.

  • They didnt say it was a bloodless coup. They said if they get a Republican elected there will be sweeping changes, akin to another revolution. The statement about the left was a warning that the left might become violent if they try it.

And you're proving their point pushing for violence.

When one lies about what another has said in an attempt to basically call for violence, it's incredibly sus.

  • He was very wrong

If everytimw you say something has a 30% chance of happening, it never happens, then your models are wrong because they should say zero percent. If you say something has a 30% chance of happening and it happens, that doesn't mean you were wrong.

It's shocking how many people don't understand percentages.

  • Microsoft expects me to pay for Office 365? No, fuck you, I’ve got LibreOffice and your older Office software still works as good. Your word processing program, Word, hasn’t really changed that much since 2007 or even 2003. Hell, maybe not since 1997!

So I moved to foss probably about 20 years ago and have been going back and forth between libre office and open office.

A couple of years ago my wife wanted me office, so I got the subscription...and man it's so much better than either of those two, and to suggest that maybe it hasn't changed since 1997 is mindboggling.

I'm a big proponent of not signing up for these services, but this paragraph really misses the mark for me.
