  • Apple very rarely even acknowledges other companies’ existence in general. So that’s not a surprise.

They targeted people on Intel Macs specifically because they’re the last ones that haven’t moved to Apple silicon yet.

They targeted people on Intel Macs and M1 specifically, because those are the people that don’t upgrade often and openly buy new when performance dictates. Everyone else upgraded with M1 and M2. M3 is getting everyone else on board, plus some M1 upgrades.

I would bet that internally Apple doesn’t expect a big jump until M5 in a few years, when the base M1 users start upgrading en masse. M4 will be getting the last Intel holdouts over onto Apple silicon.

  • It’s not a refugee camp at all. It’s a city that has existed for almost a century.

You can cheer for Hamas. Your emojis don’t mean shit lol. Nobody else supports them. Even “the media” (you sound like my drug addicted religious dad here).

  • I haven’t as the paper or even the article

    Thank you for confirming.

The common household isn’t going to see or give a shit about this article in the first place.

It’s not for the common household. It’s for people researching this. and for the companies running cloud computing platforms to save money.

  • Because Hamas has used it as a base for decades…

Just like every other piece of civilian infrastructure.

You say Jabalia like it hasn’t been a city since the 40s. It’s not some tent city. It’s a legitimate city that has been around for decades, which Hamas only took control of after 2007.

  • My dude/dudette you don’t even know what fascist means. Yeah it’s the “new” term but nothing about Hamas fits it. Fascism is an ultranationalist ideology where national identity and national position matters over everything.

Hamas doesn’t believe in nationality in general. They believe in an Islamic caliphate that will rule over all humanity. Nationality doesn’t mean fuck. They don’t believe nations even exist as a concept.

Both are right wing but not related beyond that.

  • Yeah I’ve got an M1 air and I’m set for a long time. M3 intrigues me but I don’t actually have the need for it.

Apple silicon was such a jump that we’re seeing the pig in the python for a while. Everyone who could use it upgraded it with M1. Nobody needs the upgrade other than the bleeding edge users. And for them it’s worth it. But for everyone else it isn’t.

So we’re only gonna see people that just love to spend money, or people where the incremental advance will save money over the next year.

So I’d expect for M3 to still see declines, though smaller. But in a year when M4 is announced and we start seeing people with M1s start upgrading, we’ll see things tick back up overall slightly. M5 I think will be the next big jump, beause it will be the next big bump when people that bought M1s will start upgrading.

  • Yes they are. By their own admission in this article.

Hamas by their own damn admission uses civilians as shields and intends to martyr them.

Your article leaves out the fact that Israel funded and supported several Islamic organizations at the time in both Gaza and the West Bank. One became a terrorist institution.

Take the whole history into account. After the six day war, Israel was in the position that they needed all the support they could get. So they supported anyone that opposed the PLO, which was sponsored by Egypt and Fatah. Because that’s who they just were attacked by.

Israel funded dozens of Islamic organizations that were opposed to Fatah, including mosques and schools. Hamas came out of one of them.

  • I’m done arguing with you. Hamas verbatim said they will conduct the same attacks on civilians. The attack on October 7th was entirely civilians and Hamas said they will do exactly the same thing over and over again.

The term Israel is not vague at all. They want to kill every non Muslim. They have said and done this repeatedly. When they took over Gaza by violent coup in 2007 they started murdering al news and Christians in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas wasn’t elected. They just executed the elected government in Gaza and started killing civilians to secure their rule.

But go on and defend them.

  • I mean, Hamas took power by killing Palestinian civilians. They don’t represent anyone and they openly say they will martyr civilians.

The Palestinian National Authority (Fatah) was the democratically elected government of Palestine before 2007. Hamas staged a coup and executed Fatah officials, which is why Gaza and the West Bank are separate entities today.

Hamas is as much a state as Al-Qaeda. They’re a terrorist group that seized power by way of murder and have openly declared they intend to use their citizens as shields and martyrs.

They’re not a state. They’re a terror cell that deserves to be eliminated. Unfortunately their own admitted tactics of using civilians as shields means that civilians will be killed.

  • Apparently you have not. Because the article literally directly quotes him saying

“We must teach Israel a lesson, and we will do it twice and three times. The Al-Aqsa Deluge [the name Hamas gave its October 7 onslaught] is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth,” Hamad continued. “Will we have to pay a price? Yes, and we are ready to pay it. We are called a nation of martyrs, and we are proud to sacrifice martyrs.”

The attack where they intentionally targeted civilians. He is saying they will do again and again. They will intentionally target civilians over and over again. By his own words.

And saying he will sacrifice his own civilians. Like I said.

    And

When asked whether this meant the complete annihilation of Israel, Hamas replied: “Yes, of course.”

Like I said. They want to annihilate the entire nation of Israel. Like verbatim.

I mean the dude literally said they would keep doing the same thing they did on Oct 7th. By name. Targeting civilians, until there is no Israeli nation. That literally means killing or forcing every Jewish civilian out of the region. Just like they did during the Muslim conquest of the region.

You’re very obviously on the side of Hamas given you’re outright lying about their quotes and defending their targeting of Jewish civilians. Nobody cares about your bullshit semantic arguments. Everyone can see who you are, and it doesn’t matter. Your kind will be defeated when it comes to it.

  • Nope. I’m just saying when things do hit the fan, that the side you are on isn’t gonna fair well.

And no, again you are lying claiming that Hamas said anything about the government. I directly quoted them saying they intend to keep targeting civilians and completely annihilate the entire nation of Israel.

That’s not an equivalent position in the least.

Yes a lot of civilians will die. Mostly because Hamas keeps targeting civilians and operating military bases in civilian infrastructure like hospitals and schools. Hamas already said they don’t care about their civilians and intend to martyr them. They use civilians as shields and intentionally get them killed. That’s on purpose because they’re fucking terrorists.

Hell they kill more Palestinian civilians than the IDF.

  • Nope. Quote it then if you’re so sure.

Nothing in that article at all says they have tried to avoid casualties.

“Israel is a country that has no place on our land,” Hamad said in an interview with Lebanese TV channel LBC on October 24, which was translated and published Wednesday by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). “We must remove it because it constitutes a security, military and political catastrophe to the Arab and Islamic nation. We are not ashamed to say this.”

In the interview, Hamad said that Israel’s existence is “illogical” and that it must be wiped off all “Palestinian lands,” a term the terror group uses to mean the West Bank, Gaza and Israel, minus the Golan Heights.

When asked whether this meant the complete annihilation of Israel, Hamas replied: “Yes, of course.”

“We are the victims of the occupation. Period. Therefore, nobody should blame us for the things we do. On October 7, October 10, October one-millionth, everything we do is justified,” Hamad said.

So they intentionally attacked civilians, this dude is claiming they know they attacked civilians, they will do it again and again and again until they completely eliminate the entire nation of Israel. Which includes all Jews in the region.

But hey, they claimed the land originally by genociding everyone that lived there too. So it’s par for the course.

  • No. Israel has said they are going for the total destruction of Hamas. Hamas is a government entity and the ruling government of Gaza.

Hamas has said they are going for the total destruction of Israel the nation. Including all Jewish civilians. Not the government, all Jewish people in Israel.

That’s been Hamas’ position for years. They want to eliminate all Jews from the region.

  • I mean you could at least read the article before making a low effort comment.

The design doesn’t put any salt solution near computer components, and it doesn’t use the same salt they put on the roads.

It uses lithium bromide, and given this is about large cloud computing server farms and not PCs, they still use heat sinks on the components, but the salt solution is used in a permeable membrane separately that the heat sinks divert heat to.

  • The Mac is the big one. iPhone sales are strong, stronger than pretty much everyone else in the smartphone market which is down as a whole, but Mac sales are down double digits.

Even then they’re expecting a 1% decline YoY for this quarter, and 5% growth YoY for Q1 which ends in December.

  • The September quarter isn’t Apple’s biggest or slowest quarter of the year and only includes about a week or so of iPhone 15 sales. The December quarter is Apple’s biggest of the year by revenue — right now, analysts expect $122.97 billion in sales, or 5% growth, even versus a quarter last year that included an extra week because of fiscal calendars.

So this article is a complete nothing burger. They’re expecting a 1% decline this quarter compared to the same quarter last year, while expecting the next quarter to show 5% growth over last year.

Which is unsurprising. Last year the iPhone 14 released on September 16, while this year the 15 lineup wasn’t released until September 22nd.

  • The US has some of the lowest electricity prices in the world though. Only a couple pennies per kWh higher than Canada. And MUCH lower than pretty much all of Europe.

In 2020 (last year I could find from Canada specifically) Canada averaged 11.25¢ per kWh. The US averaged 13.04¢. The UK averaged 21.91¢, France averaged 19.91¢, Finland 20.56¢, Spain 28.77¢, and Germany 33.39¢.

It’s more that Canada uses a LOT of hydro power which is cheap.
