  • I'm incapable of listening to the gasbag. Even his written (transcribed) speech I can only skim.

His rambling nonsense & lie fueled non sequiturs are too exhausting to take in for my little cat Lady brain (I'm just a neighborhood cat enabler (food, nip, water) & enthusiast, but I'll happily wear Vance's scorn label).

Still, I'm grateful, like you, for the people patient enough to listen to & transcribe that Cockwomble's stories.

  • You get your panties in a twist because you have to install Solaar?

It's a very simple, very functional piece of software Built For Logitech Devices.

All my keyboards & mice are (mostly second hand) Logitech. No problems here.

Not even sure I've had to install Solaar with Mint or Ubuntu in the last 10 years.

  • We needed a router for one job. My boss got a router from Harbor Freight. Burned through the brushes halfway through (same day). Swapped brushes. Finished the job.

His alternate plan (if we burned through the second set): return it as dysfunctional. As it would be same day, replacement would be natural.

I think he ended up taking it back for a refund after the job was done.

  • The headphones: Depends on what they are. Likely, not a better pair without spending $300+

Sm58s are the standard. Some (myself included) prefer sm57s. Though the 58s are the 'hammer' (many have used them as such, they still function well after if you don't absolutely destroy them with the hammering).

  • And that's why I (& sounds like you, too) watch them: as you said they bring valid topics to the table. If they're skewing the facts severely, they make it pretty obviously part(y) of the jokes. Doonesbury was always more of a news media than national inquirer.

Comedy delivered from a proper court jester beats the telltale gossip rag for actual useful information every day of the week.

That in mind, Late night, Tonight shows, daily shows all do a better job of delivering news than Fox.

Plus, they tell you it's only part of the story or give multiple takes on the situations.

Fox, not so much. Some experts agree... Valid topics are only those approved by Sun times & RT.
