  • I like the idea of tab isolation, but I don't want to be forced to use it for every tab group. I want to use tab groups to organize my tabs because I have way too many of them open at the same time. I often create tab groups on the fly just to keep things organized. I don't want to login into every account once I decide I need a new tab group.

  • I have switched to Firefox but I'm having a hard time. Firefox feels sluggish compared to Chrome and uses an insane amount of memory. And I really miss tab groups as Chrome had them. There are some add-ons for Firefox that try to imitate this feature but none of them has everything I want (e.g. the ability to collapse a group in the top tab bar). And most of them build on top of Firefox tab groups which come with an isolation feature I don't want (and haven't found a way to disable for tab groups).

  • Three seasons of PIC were already a mistake. The only good thing coming from it is the possibility of a Riker cooking/baking show (which I would totally watch).

  • That depends on what you want from a game like E:D or SC. But E:D has one giant "feature": It is a finished game and you don't have to spend (incredible amounts (I know you don't have to) of) money on a promise of a final release done time in the future.

  • As long as your phone doesn't come with an airplane as its charger I don't think that is covered by this. But airplanes are refitted on a regular basis, so maybe they will change all the ports within the next decade...

  • Every 3.171 years all EU citizens get together on a field near Gelnhausen in Germany and discuss current projects. Everyone brings snacks and drinks and all tasks are distributed evenly.

  • That's true, but especially for a show aimed at kids the survival or wellbeing of the crew would have been more than enough. There was absolutely no reason at all to bring up a plan to destroy the whole Starfleet...

  • I understand what you mean, but they couldn't resist the "end of the universe as we know it" trope. That was totally unnecessary in my opinion.

  • I will not buy a phone without wireless charging anymore. It is just too convenient and with proper OS support it can be configured to not drain your battery life too much.

Also I miss the smaller screen sizes. My HTC Legend was such a nice thing to hold in your hand with unique features. Smaller phones today usually lack a lot of features so they often aren't an option.

  • You can. The STL files for the case and the PCB layout are available on GitHub: https://github.com/nplan/HomeButtons There even is a section on soldering and building it yourself on the documentation.

  • I think they are totally planning on adding the new map to GTA Online. Just like in Vice City you visited the original GTA 3 map.

  • Ah yes next year will be amazing for Star Citizen. I wonder when it will finally come...

  • OpenTTD is fantastic. But after playing Banished and ONI (among others) it is just too easy. There is no real challenge unfortunately...

    • Transport Tycoon - I recently found a notebook of mine in which I wrote detailed lists of routes and vehicles. This is maybe the first game I fully embraced and played for hours.
    • Dune 2 - The first RTS game I played although I had no idea what it was all about (hadn't seen the movie yet read the book at that time).
    • Red Alert - The OST is still great, the FMV hasn't aged well, but gameplay is still great. The remaster is very good (alternatively use OpenRA).
    • Anno 1602 (1602 A.D.) - I played the demo for hours carefully avoiding upgrading my citizens as this would end the demo. Maybe the first game I bought myself and I still have the box.
    • Dungeon Keeper 2 - My first hype game. I upgraded my system for this (it was worth it).
    • Gothic 2 - Maybe the first Action RPG I played and it still holds up to current titles. In some aspects it even is better than Witcher 3 which released years later.
    • World of Warcraft - I played the open beta and was immediately hooked. I played until the second expansion came out.
    • Banished - Still my goto game for cold winter nights. It is incredible difficult and hard to find the perfect balance. You have to force yourself to play slowly which is wonderful.
    • Oxygen not included - I can play this for hours and hours. It has the same need for balance as Banished but a unique art style and endless mods on the workshop.
  • I also have some of the IKEA buttons. They are nice and I like the interchangeable labels which make it easy to print something yourself and just put it under the clear plastic lid if you want to customize them.

  • If you like it a little bit more fancy: There's a guy in Slovenia who designed HomeButtons and also sells them if you don't want to print and build them yourself (links are on the docs page). They speak via WiFi to a MQTT server and are easily integrated into Home Assistant. You can remotely change the labels if you want to and the battery life is very good.

  • But even the fastest airliners at the moment (A330 neo) moves slower than 300m/s. Wikipedia claims that COCOM limits are even higher so I don't think that they are the reason for the inaccurate tracking on planes.

  • The first time playing Gothic 2 NotR (on PC) was a fantastic experience for my younger self.

If you insist on a console game I would chose Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort because I had so many fun game sessions with friends and I think it would still be a lot of fun today.
