  • Not to mention, anyone who has worked in the US gets a SSN, not just citizens or current residents.

I know a bunch of people over here in europe who have them after working a few months/ years in the US.

  • It depends how you forward images. I assume they are referring to how many/most services (like whatsapp/discord/telegram etc) don't just send the original file, but do some compression to save data. Do this a bunch of times and you end up with a photo that starts to show noticeable artifacts/pixellation.

    That's my take at least

  • I don't think you realize how rich musk is.

If you scaled the numbers above to the whole US population, the fine would be something around $17 Billion.

Musk's net worth is over 20x that!

    Extreme inequality causes extreme instability

  • Yeah moving to the UK from Germany it was a big shock how bad the 'standard' beers were.

In Germany you could just order 'a beer' and get something good, in the UK it would be like birra moretti or something

    I liked the ales though...

  • It's a mess for my team in terms of:

    • someone's video isn't showing for anyone else
    • someone can't see anyone else's video
    • it resets my camera settings every time I restart it
    • microphone settings seem to randomly break, so we always have people running off to grab backup headsets.
    • it's missing thread features (like in slack) so branching discussions are a fucking mess.
    • most of my team uses Linux and the screen-sharing as well as file/picture sharing rarely works right.

Before we used a combination of Slack (for text communication) and Google Meet (for video) which was much more reliable a day functional.

  • The Republicans are much better about using topics they don't care as much about to generate support so they can achieve the ones they do.

The Democrats tend to want to die on every hill, which is ultimately a losing strategy.

  • On the one hand that's true.

On the other hand it's up the country to decide who gets those documents. Anyone without those shouldn't come in.

If more immigration is desirable, then expand legal immigration.
