  • Nah. They can't have obvious and consistent ownership of products or services. So they purchase companies that do the service that they want. It's still potentially a monopoly. Just has extra steps. If monopolies are legalized, we at least have a better view of where products or services are coming from

  • But if it's a requested change, how put out are you by it? It's still the same human that you respect and appreciate. And if you respect and appreciate them, you'd adhere to their request. That's what loyalty is

  • I don't understand the whole controversy of pronouns. If a person says, "Hey, call me this instead of this," that's fine. I don't have to go out of my way to do what you request. If it bothers people to go against the "ebb and flow" on something so simple, then that's their personal problem.

However, comparing it to a burka, then it almost seems like the opposite side having an issue with people who don't adhere to your standard. the whole argument is completely asinine because I don't understand why it's should matter and why people who prefer something besides their default pronoun get so upset about what other people think.

We, as individual people, have too much shit on our plate as it is. Why are you going to get mad because someone that you could easily remove from your life (because you don't like them for a possible myriad of reasons) has spited you? Live your own life and stop getting mad about how others live theirs.

Now with that being said, I've never had a family member that I love come out requesting a different pronoun beside default (also i personally think saying "default" is the best way to approach it), so i can't say exactly how I would react.

  • The problem is that genies or djinns were believed to be mischievous. If you took too long for a wish, then they would cause trouble for you. They were also known to be very manipulative in convincing to make a quick and sudden wish without proper thought. Imagine you're at a fast food restaurant, in the queue, but can't decide what you want. The hungry people behind you are rushing you, the cashier is rushing you, and you eventually freak out and just order something random even though you know what you picked you might not enjoy. That's a genies goal in most mythos

  • Well, I mean.... to be fair, no healthcare is free. It's just paid for (in many cases) by taxes. That's the thing that isn't ever talked about. Taxes. The US has some of the lowest regional, state, and national taxes because there's no Healthcare taxes besides Medicare and social security. And even those are constantly being threatened to be deducted from.

If US had a set subscription for guaranteed universal Healthcare before the gov't could get their grubby hands on it, then US Healthcare could almost be something to brag about

  • Not lonely anymore, but I spent about 10 years having every single holiday by myself. What worked for me personally was either ignore the holiday or just have an all-out bash on my own. I understand how it might not work for other people but celebrating on my own helped me learn that I should value my own time and appreciate what I can do for myself. If I ignored the holiday, it was because I didn't want to cook for myself.

There's no problem being alone as long as you value and appreciate what you can do alone.

Now with that being said, I spend the majority of my time with my wife now and she respects my time and space the way it is. I wouldn't have been able to find that if I didn't first respect myself and my own time and space
